Just got a call from them too, ignored it right away since I didn't know the number. Left a 6 second voice mail, I could hear people talking in the background, but nothing specific. Caller ID labeled the number as "BILLY/MARYANLEE". Still don't know who it was though...

It is Rooms To Go.  They have you on their phone marketing list.

I got called 7 times though and still coming, do I need to go through my cell provider and block them or is there a number to get me off their list.  If it's rooms to go why don't they talk? I've answered twice and they hung up

these people are annoying the crap out of me. they call all times of the day and night and never leave a message.

Thanks for the info. I'm getting the same hangup calls over and over again. Called back and it's def Rooms To Go. I guess the annoying phone calls were in the fine print when I bought my furniture. The stores are taking names and numbers then contacting their customer service to take care of it. From the sounds of it, they are getting lots of complaints.

It's important to note that it is not EXACTLY Rooms To Go; it's a company Rooms To Go hired to carry out their marketing event.  After getting called by this number over two dozen times in the last few days and complaining to Rooms To Go, I finally decided to answer it and try to get some information.  It was obviously an automated calling system because after I answered, there was a click and a delay before someone spoke to me and addressed me by name.  I spoke nicely to her and asked who she was employed by.  She said Rooms To Go, but when I pressed, she admitted that Rooms to Go was their client and she didn't work directly for them but would not tell me who provided her paycheck.  She offered to let me speak to a supervisor.
The supervisor also refused to admit who they worked for.  I asked, "Is that because they employ business practices that tend to aggravate people?" and he acknowledged this was part of the reason.  He also admitted they were based out of Montreal.
I've already written Rooms To Go and let them know I will no longer purchase products from them.  Despite this not being directly driven by them, they chose this company to carry out this sort of scheme.

I received at least 5 calls PER DAY on my cell phone and also on my home phone from this number. They never left a message. My husband finally picked up and there was a garbled metallic background sound and someone he couldn't even understand. Today I received yet another series of calls on my cell phone and let them go to voice mail. Again, no message. I hit redial and was shocked to hear a recording telling me I was being invited to a special event for ROOMS TO GO!! Are they kidding me? My home phone then began ringing. It was the same harassing phone number. A guy was on the phone and spoke with such an accent I couldn't understand what he was saying. I finally confirmed the RTG connection and told him not to call again. I couldn't believe RTG would be so shady so I called the Glenwood Store here in Raleigh, NC. They confirmed the calls were legit and told me they would put me on the Do Not Call list. The woman I spoke with mentioned that others had called to complain as well. If you receive a call like this I would immediately call to complain to RTG. It's nice to know there are sites like this to help us to be aware of what is going on. What I don't understand is that I am registered on the national Do Not Call List already. Does the registration expire?

I've been getting numerous calls from this number over the past several weeks. It is on behalf of Rooms To Go. I answered the first time and hung up when I realized what the call was about, haven't answered it since. What really ticks me off is that 1) they refuse to leave a message, and 2) that they forge caller id information to make it appear as an individual attempting contact instead of being upfront and honest about it being a sales call from Rooms To Go.

@TickedOff - The Do Not Call registry prevents telemarketing companies from contacting you with telephone solicitations. Registration for a number does not expire and is permanent. There is a catch in the regulations. If you are an existing/recent customer of a business the DNC rule doesn't apply to that business. That being said, I've gotten several solicitations from one of my credit card companies. I informed them that I was on the DNC list for a reason and I knew they were exempt because I do business with them....however if they called me again with solicitations or offers I would close my account. Not one phone call from them in over 2 years. :)

RJ-I appreciate your solution to the recent customer exemption. I, too, have a very persistent credit card company and will be utilizing this tactic. Thanks for empowering me!
