Ok so I did get one of those letters. And they are legit. They are called Direct Buy. You mayhve seen the commericals. My husband and I just did the open house. It was 90 mins. long. I did get the free android tablet which is nice the resturant give card not so much. It is for a $100.00 but my husband says you have to spend $200.00 to use it. It is expensive to join. Like gold was $5,000 and plantium was $4,000 for the first 3 yrs then $200.00 each yr after that. It was very interesting to go just to expensive for us. So you still get the gifts even if you say no. And the 72 hrs thing is bull cause we were gone for a wk before i opened mine an called. Direct buy has been around since 1972. There store is off of 441 by walmart in the strip mall by gordmans and petco. I hope this helps everyone.

We just got the same offer in the mail.  Don't people have anything better to do?  I knew it was a scam just by looking at it.  It was addressed in a typeset that isn't typical.  I hope people are smart enough not to fall for this - a free tablet - really????????  Not going to happen.

I just got off the phone with the Better Business Bureau here in Appleton, WI.  Apparently this is a company looking to get people to buy a membership in their company and that membership is expensive.  You and your spouse have to both go to an "open house" meeting where they will attempt to get you to buy this pricey membership.  They claim they can save you lots of money buying products,etc.  While it isn't illegal as far as the BBB knows, they have heard complaints that the gifts they use are cheap.  BBB asked me to send in a recent letter from this company and it is on it's way to them today.  Any further information will be relaid back.

not only did I get a call from this number (which I never picked up the  phone), but today I got a letter in the mail telling me this was "final notice".  Inside the letter was congratulations anna...., our promotional department showsthat you have been awarded a new 7" tablet complete with Android 4.0 O/S, camera and Wifi.  Our records indicate that by responding within 72 hours you will also receive a $100 restaurant gift card.  To claim this special offer, simply call this number:  920-243-7327

I see the number and "Appleton, WI" on my caller id.  No message.  I think it's to offer me a "great" deal on renewing Reader's Digest.  I renewed through the mail earlier in the year, but they still want more.  They called about a week ago and I told them no thanks and hung up fast.

Caller ID says the call is from Appleton, WI.

I called the number back and got USA Promotions.. Selling magazines.. Had them remove my number from their list and then promptly registered a complaint with Do Not Call registry. What really pissed me off was they were calling my cell phone....  Really!

They have called us 10 times in the last 6 days.  I do not answer.

Please go to the national DO NOT CALL registry and file a formal written complaint... I have reported two of the numbers this company calls me  from (they also call from 480-435-9650/Phoenix, AZ).. If enough people file written complaints, there is a much better chance for an investigation..I would love to put a stop to these magazine sales calls!! I've been on the registry for a while now... But you have to speak up if it isn't blocking the calls!! Please, go to the site and join my complaint.. There is power in numbers!

They have been calling for a while now and I would never answer. They would not leave any message. Today, I finally decide to find out who was calling. They told me I was a preferred customer for Reader's Digest and as such they could offer me a great deal if I would renew for another 3 years. Told them I was not interested. I'm sure they just wanted my credit card information!

Its the number for Dicks Sporting goods.

This number calls any where from 2 to 5 times daily, never leaving a message.

They asked my name, I said yes, and they hung up.

Called and when I asked who was calling, they hung up immediately.

I hear they are asking for me, lol.  Just give them my number... huh?  Can someone call me please.

They call so often I'm sure must be important, the thing is, they never leave a message, so, it must not be important.... oh, what a beautiful butterfly.... mmmh, cupcakes. huh? Anyway, what is this blog for?  Oh, Yeah, I think we should repeal the law, hmf!

I'm being harassed by this caller! I've logged both my home and mobile numbers in the 2013 "Do Not Call" lists. No one answers when you pick up, nor when you call the number back. What's up? Besides harassment.

After a minute or so of silence, it goes dead. Who is this calling me? And why?

I get a call every day once a day from this number..Never a voice..no one answers when you pick up''They do not leave messages..You are not able to call back to this number either...I just want them to stiop calling..Why isn't there a person on the other end when you pick up or even a recorded message...NONE..Just Annoying!!!

I tried calling the number back, it went straight to elevator music and no one ever picked up.  What a pain in the @$$

This number calls every morning around 10:00!!  Is there a way to block this number from your cell phone?

I get called frequently, almost daily.  When I see the caller ID I simply ignore it.  I ignore almost all calls from numbers I don't recognize.  I don't know what can be done about this type of call other than to ignore them.  If you ignore them, don't even answer them, maybe they'll give up since it won't be paying to place the calls.

I'm blocking the number..I am on a no call list so how are these guys getting through :((

These people called me constantly. I finally answered - it a some gimmick magazine subscription they want to pin you into. I told her very nicely to please stop calling my house because 'you people' call me twice a day everyday, you are worse than my mom. She got a huge attitude and said dhe didn't call me that much and before I could tell her to stick it where the sun doesn't shine - she hung up - on me. Haha!. Maybe now the calls will stop. Doubt it.
