Blah, blah, blah...running out of time to use "stimulus" to lower card interest rates.
I hang up.
Really wish these would stop. Getting them at home and on mobile. Different numbers, same pitch.  From Montana, Mississippi, and Wisconsin

I got a good laugh out of the personalities that you've created to use against the "card services" scammers--far more ingenious than the single "gullible old man" method I used!  As you said, no matter what character is used the most important thing is to act sincere in accepting their offer, and don't ever let on you're playing with them--they can turn on you, causing the opposite of the desired effect, to lessen and eliminate their annoying calls. I'm not sure why others haven't tried what you and I have shown to be a proven method--maybe they don't have the time, or possibly the calls are coming in on a cell phone, and they don't want to waste minutes, but in the long run it will be the most time and cost effective way of getting these lowlife pests off our backs. If you have the time, your post should be copied to as many "card services" scammers numbers as you can find--and it's sure not hard to find PLENTY of them on 800Notes most recent posts!

Another one of Card Memeber Services numbers. They call all the time. When I do answer it and press 1 so that I can speak with a live person and get removed from the list they just hang up on you. Absolutely horrible. They call non-stop.

Ok - lets get real here. Being on the "Do Not Call List" isn't going to stop any of these scammers from calling. So, if you have the time, and a little creativity, why not waste their time and have a little fun in your day. If you read how some people have gotten pretty creative with their own handling of these callers, and do something similar yourself, you have a much better chance of being taken off their robodialer list. They don't want any number who's on to their scam and is going to waste their time with phoney information. The more you waste their time, the less money they make. Thats the best way to stop them from calling you - waste their time chasing down useless information that leads them no where. Then it's you who gets the last laugh on them. Don't yell or curse at them, or call them names or try and give them a lecture. Thats what they enjoy and they get the last laugh on you. If you take the time to google the various scammer phone numbers, you'll see how some people have gotten really creative in wasting the time of the callers. One person who seems to have take this to a whole level of it's own is "Anthony H Slowwitz". Google his name and you can see how he handles these callers. As for myself - I have a couple different methods I've used. One is what I call my "dumb hick accent with the name Ben Dover". That one has kept the caller on for as long as 20 minutes before they realized they had been had. One time I made them so mad their boss called me back, chewed me out for wasting their time. I had some fun with him too. BUT, that number never called me back again after that.  Another voice I use it that of a middle easterner saying "jes, i want a credit card, can you help me get one?"  Thats not good for keeping them on the phone long, but it will also get you taken off their robodialer. Bottom line is, if you waste their time, or turn the table on them - as I do with Azwipe Joma - ( my middle eastern personality ). In fact, while I was typing this I received a call from 516-430-5192 - Rachel with card member services. So I pressed 1 and was connected to a real live person. I heard the male voice in the background coaching the female voice who asked me if I pressed 1 and would like to lower my interest rate. So Ben Dover - my hick personality - said "yep, sure would". I wasn't able to keep them on too long. I'm sure whoever was coaching her was on to me jerking her chain. But, I'll bet I don't get a call back from that number. So what have I been able to accomplish? Well, in just the last few months of changing my tactics from not anwering, to jacking with them, I've managed to lower the number of incoming calls I receive from several a day to maybe a couple a month at the most. Seems to be working for me. Hope you can find something that will work for you.

The same happened to me.  I asked them nicely to not call me since I do not have any credit cards.  The "boy" on the other end cusses at me, says he will come to my house murder me and my family, I am making an effort to find out who this company is and press criminal charges for that.  I will have a recorder set up for the next call (since they always call back).

Same problems.  Call and never leave a message. You call them back and get nothing!
This is so disgusting.  Economy is horrible, barely surviving, and Obama is allowing this nonsence and dismay to continue. If they don't inforce a law to protect American's about this, it's no one's fault but Congress and Senate. We are not to blame for their mistakes!
They have driven this country into one of the worst debts. We work day after day and get harassed by people like this.  I've filled up my Verizon block list, so it will go on and on. I refuse to answer these calls and instructied my contractors who use Verizon services under my business name, not to answer either.   They need to get a life!

I called Verizon and they blocked this number from both of our cell phones.  The block is good for 90 days and there was no charge.  In 90 days I can renew the block.  Save yourself a headache and block the number.  You can also place a block online.  I'm sure all carriers have this type of service.

They call everyday now.  I have NO credit cards and I'm on the NO CALL list.  I've been yelled at, screamed at and hung up on by their lousy customer service reps.  I even went so far as to start asking for a manager - yeah did no good.  They still hung up after telling me off.  I want these calls to stop!!!!

No call is completely ineffective now because the scammers change numbers so often, they can block detection, etc. Part of the problem is that innocent people fall for this garbage. If that didn't happen, the whole scam thing would be ancient history.

Just got a call from this outfit, credit card blah blah...

Guy picks up, "Your full credit card number for the benifits."

Me, "Do you really think I am going to give you my credit card number?  Please take..."

Guy, "I think I am going to f*** your wife tonight." Hangs up.

What the f*** is this world come to when companies are allowed to scam the public and then when you aren't dumb enough to be scammed they say these things?  I am on the DNC list, have been for years.  These s****ags are the scum of the earth!

H2OSue has a brilliant idea there.  Obama should sta in his office and focus on spam phone solicitors.  Why hasn't he thought of that???

They should block morons like H2OSue from the internet so the rest of us don't have to be exposed to their imbecilic rants................

I answered the call since my family is from WI, but of course it was one of those credit spammers.  I pressed 1 and told them to take me of the call list since i'm on the do not call registry.  they had the balls to say, "well since you pressed 1, you will be on the list for at least 6 more months."  they are required by law to take you off if you ask.  I will be contacting the attorney general about this one!
