I see a lot of these comments are for some medical thing, but I got a call from this number but I didn't answer. They left a voicemail (with an automated response) and said her name was Heidi and that she was calling from Speedycash. I've gotten several calls from this number and other numbers around the country with the same automated voicemail lady named "Heidi" from Speedycash?! What the hell... This needs to stop.

Part of the problem is that behind the number spoofing these calls usually originate someplace in the Caribbean that is beyond the reach of the U.S. government.  It's the downside of a global communications network.

As reported in the AARP Bulletin most of the telemarket scammers are drug addicts. Who else would hire these lowlifes.Scummy creatures such as these not only don't care about their own parents, they would place the call to them, to try to rip them off also, if it meant money for their disgusting habits.

My elderly parents have been getting calls from them for the past month, its John. I tried back calling the number and it doesn't go anywhere. All we can do is advise everyone (not just the elderly) that these low lifes are out there. Maybe we should set them up, tell them your interested and have them deliver it in person telling them you will pay them in cash. These scammers are so desperate for cash I bet they would fall for it.

You won't have to worry about having to scam these people back. As this generation of scammers become elderly the next generation of scammers will cheat them also ,hopefully to the point where they must live on the streets or in the woods!

keep getting calls from this same scammer claiming to have a system to set up. I assumed right away that it was trying to scam the elderly. What I find funny is that they are trying to scam my mother-in-law who died last year, but had my number and address while living in a nursing home.
Wish there was a way to scam these people back.

The medical alert for seniors scammers are calling again with their phoney offer of some medical device that's supposedly already paid for. Don't fall for this scam. One way or another all they really want is to get our credit card number so they can rip us off!

You're right, the card service scammers use all spoofed (false) numbers to hide their true identities and locations to avoid prosecution. Until the current legislation passes, which will outlaw the spoofing of name and number,  the best we can do is to be aware of these druggies, and also warn others before they are cheated.

I got a call from 920-593-9154 about a week ago with the spiel about a" paid for" medical alert.system It was right before Mother's Day so I can see why some people would believe it.  I tpook the phone number to our police dept.  Lot of good that did because they called again today.  Might be untraceable cell phone

Times have changed greatly in the last generation. The folks that are elderly today were raised and lived in a time where it was the norm to be trusting of others, and to respect people. The days of only having to worry about the door to door salesman pulling a fast one on you have passed. The newer technologies (internet--caller id etc) are things that many of the elderly do not have for various reasons, cost being just one. The scammers know that the elderly are vulnerable because of these facts and prey on them. Very few of the posts I've seen are by a person that was actually scammed. I suspect the reason for this is they do not have internet service. I also suspect that the scam calls are being answered because the calls are going to homes without caller id. Therefore, I reason that if we want these annoying calls to stop, and to have fewer people cheated, we need to inform our family members and friends of the possible scams that are out there just waiting to bite them. It's one thing to be annoyed by the calls, but much worse to have been scammed! We need to educate, not criticize.

The caller is a recording which is choreographed to sound like a real person calling, presumably to trick old people because the message is stating that he's calling from the warehouse trying to ship a package for a walker/mobile chair unit, but needs additional information. Oh and yeah the package is "free".

If people would wise up and not respond to these calls they would go away. I see old people on news all the time scammed out of thousands of dollars for "free stuff". Dumba$$es! One old bag kept sending money like they requested and got bilked out of $34,000.00. $34K!!! Really Grannie, you deserved that - DumbA$$!

Geeze, if you're ancient, don't you think you would have learned decades ago that NOTHING IS FREE. Old people, get an f-ing clue!

The medical alert for seniors scammers called and said they had a pre-paid delivery to make to me. What a joke! If there is a delivery to be made, (there isn't) they can ship it to the person who paid for it, and they can bring it to me with a gift card, and I will thank them, if it's something I can use. This was a VERY poor attempt to scam me by people who are so unintelligent that that they can't find an honest job. Be aware of these scammers and alert others!

Well, seeing you didn't get to find out who these scammers are, I will tell you. These are the "medical alert for seniors" scammers who target the elderly in an attempt to fool them into thinking there is a delivery coming that some family member has already paid for. People that have fallen for this scam have learned nothing is paid for, or free, as these lowlifes attempt to get a credit card number from the unsuspecting victim to cover "other costs". People that have accepted the scammer's offer have suffered severe financial losses. These are some of the most disgusting scammers, as they prey on the elderly, who in many cases are the ones least able to be cheated financially. Beware of these scummy creatures, and warn others, before they are cheated!

States this is John from the shipping dept verifying the delivery of a "I've fallen and can't get up" system.
He stated it looked as if was already paid for.
When I tried to interrupt him, I could tell it was a recording... he didn't stop talking.  It took me several
attempts to disconnect the call.
