This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

Received a call also from Berlin Law Firm # 920-967-8930, but I screen all my calls and try to get the name of the company and then look them up online. Yeah, these people are plentiful and bad. Screen Your Calls!

Continues to call my cell and has now some how have gotten ahold of my work number calling my employees leaving messages that I need to cal them right now or I will be arrested. Hang up on me when I ask them what the hell they are talking about.

thanks for your post because they just called me and i posted what happened to me on here. i have taken out a payday loan before online and that was a big mistake. i paid them back of course but now i'm getting these phone calls. i have called the FDC and reported other numbers they have called from so i will do the same with this one. they did inform me that there is a payday loan lawsuit scam going on that. they said that these people say there is a lawsuit pending against you to scare you into paying them hundreds of dollars. but i will not fall for it not as long as i can look up numbers that call me and find info as helpful as yours and others on sites like this so i thank you and the others that have posted. If we all post our incounters with these people on here we might be able to help alot of people especially since this is a hard time for people finacially and they are resorting to payday loans for relief and these scamers know that's how the can get easy money from people by scaring them with a lawsuit from a payday company.

I just received a phone call from a James Anderson at my job. He called from 920-967-8930. When he asked for me i said i was not here and when i asked to take a message he was very hesitant to give me any information. I had to ask several times where he was calling from and he finally said the berlin law firm. Even after me saying i was not here he got mad and kept asking when i will be in and if we (my job since i played like i wasn't who he asked for) could call me and when i said no he got angry. When i hung up the phone i looked up the number and found this online and saw that other people were having this problem. I also could hear other people in the background talking like he called from a call center or something. i will be sure to report them to the FDC and BBB and anybody else i can report them 2. There is a payday scam going around where they are saying that you owe for a past due payday loan and that there is a case pending against you to get you to pay them so they can scam you out of money. i'm not paying anything until i get official legal documentation stating that i am being sued. plus he hade an indian accent.

Received a call saying that i needed to call them back right  away or have my lawyer call them. It was an indian lady. Would not give me her name.

If thes number is to used to do pranks on people that scare them to half to death, then this number and its people should be arrested and the number disconnected.  There should be some way to kill the monster!

These people are using this # via Skype! There is NO Berlin Law Firm or Group, I have called every law firm in Wisconsin. Thats where they fool you because they are ideally calling from India. The reason they are contacted people is due to the content you have trolled online; ie payday lenders and such. My son looked over some offers and now these people are calling his job and cell phone claiming they are sending police on a Saturday, may I add; when no official municipal or court buildings are open, and say I owe for a loan I never even completed the application for! I'm not sure how they have accessed individual's information but I would advise everyone not to troll for lenders online; even if you are just looking because then these maggots get your info and call trying to scam you. The FBI needs to be involved because this is seriously criminal calling peoples place of business and threatening them! The reason they laugh and hang up is because they are NO WHERE in Wisconsin therefore unless the FBI works with their local authorities (which I doubt) these fools will never be brought to justice. I am just happy this blog exists for others to know better after reading our accounts of what we've experienced. Unfortunately for them, they got the right one to put a stop to their foolishness! I am on this like a starving coyote!

You can't stop the calls.... once you are on their list.  I had these calls about 1 year ago, then again about several months ago, now again today.  They are scam artists from the word GO!   They can barely speak English that you can understand, and they can not give you any true information about "your case"; because there is none.
Ironically I work for an attorney and when they continued to call, I handed the phone to my attorney to talk with them.  They really didn't know what to do when they got an actual attorney to talk with.  He told them to fax the info to us so that we could look it over.... of course they never did and basically told him to ....off.  
Don't fall for their scams ..... just have some fun and screw with them next time they call..... answer Pizza Hut, can I take your order?   it throws them off, as they are on a scripted screen, they don't know how to reply.

I just got a phone call from this place and told them I was calling my local police. Last week the call was from California. I dont know how they got my info but if I find them, they will have a very bad day

They literally just called my place of employment saying they were sending police officers to arrest me tomorrow because of some loan I don't have and didn't pay. Already called the police and they aren't coming. This has happened multiple times. I need to find a Way to report them so stop harassing me.

Don't bother with these shysters. If it is legitimate, you will receive something in the mail.

Got a call from John Lincoln said that it was time sensitive and that me or my attorney should call as soon as I get this message. Then he repeated the number twice and the said if I do nothing he wished me good luck. I called him back and was told there was a lawsuit against my name and social security number. I told him I googled the number and it was a scam. I told him I was going to turn the number in to the police and attorney general he got mad and said good luck is coming for you . I asks what good luck is he replied your about to find out what good luck is he said your about to find out good luck is coming for you then he hung up. They go by Berlin law offices . When I called some guy answered and said John Lincoln called me back. The funny thing is I called. From my cell but the return call was to my home  phone how did he know I was home and it was the same guy that was the receptionist. I recognized it was the same person both times.

Don't give them any info i contacted them and one of the guys told me he was an officer and that i was in big trouble and was going to get what was coming to me. its a scam

I just got a call from 920-967-8930. The lady said her name was Eliza and there was a lawsuit against me and I asked for what. She asked me if I had been briefed on the case or was I just irate? What kind of question is that? I told her I had the FBI screening all of these calls and for them to leave me alone and stop harassing me and I hung up. She called right back and I told her to leave me alone and hung up again. She called me right back and I did not answer. I think she called me back again because I had 4 missed calls from this number. She left a voice mail saying it is her job to inform me that there was a lawsuit being filed against my name and my social. She said my case is "downloading" and I must call back by this afternoon or her investigation team will arrive at my home and at my work. She said I need to decide what I need to do and all she can do is wish me luck. My husband had the same problem with these fools about a year ago and he blocked the numbers from his cell phone that they were calling from.

I work for the Federal Government for this dude to call me and threaten is a felony.  He told me if I did not call back he wished me good luck - his name was James Thrasher and when I call the number the same voice answer and said hi this Sam can I help - I hung up

I received a call from John  Lincoln saying it would be in my best interest to call him back ,said it was time sensitive. He said that my attorney on record should return his call as soon as possible, told me he could not stress how important it is,told me if I did not only thing he could say was good luck , am I going to have to change my number to keep these people from calling me. Last week I had another one from Charlie Shawn White from 813-938-7531, he called me before 8am and gave different number to call ,when I called it he told me I was going to be arrested for serious accuasations against my name . When I told him I knew that this was a scam , he hung up immediately.

James Asher, which is not his name I bet, is a complete idiot. I inquired on how much $ I owe and to whom I owe a debt to. He could not answer my question and said he would have to transfer my call. I will never conduct any more business on the internet. My information was acquired online somehow and the guy is relentless leaving "good luck" messages and such. This is very frustrating and I will be calling the attorney general in Wisconsin and North Carolina.

I received a call saying that they were from a Law Firm and that I needed to contact them or my lawyer needed to contact them right away.  I was told not to ignore their message and if I did then good luck to me cause everything was going to unfold right before me, or something like that.  The man's voice creeped me out!  Creepy and a bit scary.  Any advise on what to do?

I just received a call from 920-967-8930 from a guy saying he was James Asher and that i needed to call him back.  It was time sensitive.  That I owe money on a payday loan and I have three lawsuits pending. And if i didn't call him back he wished me "good luck". In an extremely creepy kinda scary voice.  I was going to call thme back but figured I would leave it alone.  But if they call me again I will threatened to turn the number in to the police.  These ppl are unreal. I can't believe that they spend their time trying to take advantage of ppl this way.

I starterd getting calls today saying there were sending cops to come and arrest me because of not paying on anything. They would not answer any more than 3 questions. They said I was breaking the law.

I am starting to enjoy harrasing them the same way the are harrasing me.

The same thing happened to me so I started calling them, They didnt like that very much !!! After being hung up on like ten times he told me to stop calling them, When i told them all I wanted was their adress they gave me 101 Tremont St. And asked what i needed it for I told them it was to give to local law enforcement, They informed me that it would not be in my best interest to do that- I hung up. haha
