Got a phone call. No message left.

I got the "This is Rachael calling..." robo call, and annoyed the person I was connected to by putting them on hold long enough so that they called me on a separate line that gave a *real* caller ID - the second call came from 407-219-5960. Here is the Superpages info for that number:
Pulliam, Thomas D., Attorney At Law
113 Palmola St, Lakeland, FL 33803

I really think they are Card Member Services. They use a lot of different numbers and have called me on about five or six. The goal here should be to keep them on the phone for at least two minutes. The shorter calls are probably not reviewed by management. The 000 exchange is very strange and probably made up.
These people are part of a phishing scam and any info you give them should be bogus. Greet them with "Jane at (bank you don't use) said you might call" and you become very interesting indeed. If you seem a little dumb, you will hold their interest. Interrupt them mid-script and say you can barely hear them. Make them repeat the important points.
Sadly, I didn't get to talk to them. Another number they use is 813-305-5214.

I have filed several FTC complaints; now it's time for revenge. I asked for business name, etc. etc. to no avail. They are OBVIOUSLY CRIMINALS. No one seems to be able to shut them down.
The next time you get this call, WASTE AS MUCH OF THEIR TIME AS POSSIBLE. This is the only solution. Do your best to keep them on the line. The more of their time you waste, the less profitable their scam is for them. BY ALL MEANS, LIE!!!!! Make up a fake name, tell them you have to go find your wallet. Give them a bogus sob-story about your debts. Make up fake credit card numbers. Do anything and everything to keep them on the line. FIGHT BACK !!!!
Time yourself, and report your results here for a friendly competition !!!
Suggestion 2011-06-06 21:07:23 Unknown
Next time they call, press whatever button to get the real person. Have an air horn handy. As soon at the real person answers, blast them!!!!!
Knut Jr 2011-06-06 21:07:23 Unknown
Ya sure, you betcha, I'm gonna give 'em all dem numbers dey want right away. Uff da!

a call for reduced CC rates. I pressed 9. I said, "Please take my name off your list. The female who answered, who did not identify herself, asked, She asked, so you don't have a CC balance? "Do you understand why we called you?" Then, I when I asked what their company name was and phone number, the female hung up!

It is illegal and unethical. They don't call from a list. They call EVERY number and they don't care who is or is not on the DNC. They ARE crooks -- professional criminals.
Harry 2011-06-06 21:07:23 Unknown
There are so many crooks running so many telephone scams that most never get caught. That's why this goes on. There's nobody really trying to stop them. Protect yourself. Do not take calls from people who willingly violate the DO NOT CALL LIST. Only crooks ignore the DNC.

This is not the first time this company has called. Usually I am not available to answer calls so it goes to a voicemail.
After the recording, a person connected and I asked if I owed $3000 or more in credit card debt.
I asked the name of the company and they said the name was "Account Services"; I then confirmed the name of the company. They assured me they worked with the Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
I then asked the company's location and the caller’s response was: "Are you interested or are you just going to turn us in?" -- I responded with the word "What"? I had no idea what the company was offering or why they were calling and they disconnected the call immediately.
It appears to me that this company was not reputable and knew it - please put a stop to them before they most likely rob less caution individuals!
If anyone knows the location of this call center please post it. One of the many people on this list should be local to the facility and be able to have local PD shut them down.

I did answer and voice recording replied with information concerning credit card debt and to press a certain number if I needed assistance. I have received these calls before, I called this number, 923-000-9632 and the recording indicated number was not in service.

My sister and I both got a call from this number. They asked by sister for info on her daughter in laws credit.
Be careful who you give any info to and never, never give out your credit card numbers to anyone.
Mario 2011-06-06 21:07:23 Unknown
I just don't pick up numbers I am not familiar with.

stop calling
dotdashkayaker 2011-06-06 21:07:23 Unknown
This number called my "get-away" and left their message last week, then just now called my home (different city in Washington). I answered and pressed 9 to talk to their operator. When I told him I am on a "Do Not Call" list, he said, "Well there's nothing I can do, since we don't call from a list. Just don't pick up!" He acted like it wasn't HIS problem! Why should I have my grandson's nap disturbed, my life unnecessarily interrupted because this creep doesn't use a list? Can something be done? This seems illegal and unethical.

I receive pre-recorded messages from this company often. It pretends that it is my credit card company -- which it is not. And says that certain services are about to expire -- which they are not. This is outright fraud, and has been going on for more than a year. I don't know how it can be allowed. Some older people who get this call will doubtlessly panic and do whatever these criminals tell them to.
Jean 2011-06-06 21:07:23 Unknown
Hi:
This is Rachael calling about your current credit card account.
I then hung up. I have received this call once before that I remember.
Retired 2011-06-06 21:07:23 Unknown
They wanted our credit card info so they could "update" it
grunambulax 2011-06-06 21:07:23 Unknown
I got the same robocall. Rachel from card holder services. Pressed for service. "Matt" answered and I asked, "Do I have an existing relationship with you?" "Matt" hung up. Well if he is "Matt" then I am Grunambulax and whomever owns this POS company can suck my Grunambulax.

How do I block this number?
Mike Smith 2010-11-29 18:17:39 Unknown
You all could file this at:
https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx?panel=2
They will get a $1000 fine for every 3 complaints registered at this site.

I've been getting calls from 923-000-9632 on both my cell and my Qwest land-line. I spoke with Qwest's Annoyance Call Trace office today. They know all about 923-000-9632. They told me it's somebody spoofing the caller ID system, messing with their own identifying information, and that that is still legal here in the U.S.A. I now have an extremely loud, very shrill whistle next to my phone. Next time they call, I intend to press 9 to speak to an operator about lowering my credit card interest rate... :-)

I get a call from this number at least once a week. Always in the morning. I have caller ID and never pickup. Will report this number to the Do Not Call agency in Denver. I'm also over 60 and the laws are very strick in this state when they are trying to scam older people. Every one call and report them.

I received a call from 923-000-9632, listened to the message then opted 9 to speak to an operator. When he came on I asked him what company he was with, as this question is usually enough to prompt a hang-up from Bogus companies. He said he was with MasterCard and Visa. I told him we were on the do not call list. He actually laughed at me and asked me, "And how's that going for yah?" I told him not well. He asked if I paid to be on the Do Not Call list, and I asked him if I could speak to a manager. He again laughs, and says,"I am the manager." I asked for a supervisor or superior, and he told me "No one that will speak to you. I'm the floor manager and I'm helping out today because we're short staffed." At this point, I hung up. DANG! Normally I can get them to do it first.

Had this call first time from a different number saying they could reduce interest fee. Everything seemed fine until I opted out. I called to tell them , they said okay and was then charged $900.00 to my account. When I tried to contact them the number was to a residence to someone you couldn't understand . Next time I called the number had been disconnected. I receive these calls at least 3 or 4 times a day. Today the call came from 923-000-9632 and Rachael said I could lower my interest that my card was fine. I pressed the number and a man that you could hardly understand asked me if he could save me some money on my card. I told him not if he was going to screw me out of $900.00 again. He then hung up. No wonder our world is a mess. I don't believe I bit on this the first time. They even sent me a packet of papers to fill out which I shredded. They did return my call though when I told them I wanted out. They were very mean about it. Well I have learned my lesson.

I agree! I have been getting calls, and they hang up on my machine. Got another one today, so I didn't answer it. Looked it up and found all this interesting info on this number. They need to be reported to state attorney's office.

Called on an a do not call number.
Sandy D. 2010-09-28 19:13:35 Unknown
Calling on a "do not call" listed number. Can you tell me where this number is originating? I'd like to report to my state's attorney general.

Google reports that area code 923 "is not in service."
So even the area code is bogus. BEWARE of ANY calls from this area code!
