Received a couple calls from this number. I don't know anyone from "East San Francisco Bay Area," so I wasn't answering. Finally picked it up today just to see, and they knew my name (not my official given name, the middle name that I go by). Said she was calling from the Student Loan Forgiveness Center, THEN asked me if I had any student loans. Wouldn't a legitimate organization know this and only target people with outstanding loans? I very rudely told her I did not and hung up. Probably a scam to get financial information. Wish I could punch people like this through the phone.

There were reports that this is similar to some phone fraud cases that were happening a few years ago. They call and let it ring once, then hang up. Then, when you call them back to see who they are, the call charges you $20-30 on your next phone bill. Do not call back numbers from different area codes that only ring once and don't leave  a voicemail. Also, check your phone bills if you did call them back. Good chance you'll have a random charge.

Same here. I've never answered it yet, but they leave no message. So it's more than likely a scam group that bought personal info from the freaks who hacked the Target database? Goddammit.

They called my cell number several times a day lately, leaving no messages. Finally, I answered the call and was asked by name if I would like to continue education. They have both my first and last name, claiming that they are RC Consulting (something like that) and have got my number "from computer"...
