This number had been calling my cell 3-5 times per day for the last 3 days. No message left each time. Annoying.

I just got a call from this number: [(925) 420-1428 East San Francisco Bay Area]. I answered since I have friends in the same area. It was a recorded message about "lowering homeowners' electricity bill". The ironic thing, in addition to my cellphone being on the useless Do Not Call Registry, is that I neither own a home nor have the electric bill in my name. It says press 8 to be removed, which I did.

Caller ID showed: Out of area
Left recorded message that talks about the "Solar Energy Choice Program". No company name is given and it ends with the usual "Press 1 for an operator" and "Press 3 to be removed" shtick.
From the previous postings, it looks like either they alternate scams, or home mortgage "reductions" aren't working. Ironically, it has been overcast and raining for the past few days, not the best time to try and sell the benefits of solar energy. They were screwed before they even auto-dialed.

Been getting those calls every second day. I bet if the caller would pay for the outgoing calls to the cell phone, they would think twice. Why am I to get the hit with the bill ?
BTW, i tried accessing the company profile through BBB ... is that the one ?

Surprisingly good records so i hate to spoil with the complaint if that is not the company in question

The company's name is O1 COMMUNICATIONS, INC.in California and they are offereing that certain customers qualify for lower home owner rates. This call recording is also generated as a robot call; when I hit pound on the phone the call automatically disconnected.

Politely?? You must be really out-of-touch with the world of telemarketing... the first and last time I ever spoke politely to a telemarketer... I ended up on the phone with them for half an hour. I don't know what you do for a living, but, I have better things to do. The fact anyone would ever placate a telemarketer, when you really have no idea of their true intentions... is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. They ALL want nothing but to take advantage of the one moron dumb enough to fall for it. I prefer not to be a member of the "sheep-le" herd.

usually it's from something someone filled out online, like maybe you put your number in a survey or something and than it's soled from there to them. if you don't answer they usually continue to call. it's much easier if you just tell them you're not interested or to take your number off of the list.
| abcdef 2013-08-09 20:21:49 Unknown |
if you were just to politely tell them to take you off the list, they'll stop calling. haven't gotten a call since.

Most phone companys it seems sell or give your number out to "pick a company" when your phone payment is made. I put number in phone with ringer off and start new name with a "w" its amazing how many combos that start with "w" you can save. Easier than getting a new number because they will call that number eventually too.

12:53 this afternoon, 08-07-2013, wasn't available to receive a call, This sucks, and yes, i am sure that the cell phone #'s are sold by the cell phone provider.

Call came from some place in Northern California, did not answer, did not leave a message.

Forgot to mention that I have added this number to my ever growing list of "Do Not Answer" numbers listed in my contacts (on my iPhone). I have a large icon that pops up with a "Do Not Answer" symbol so I know not to answer. There are now...42 numbers on the list. I wonder if there is a limit to the amount of phone numbers you can have on a single contact on iOS devices.
Thankfully, my provider lets me block up to 5 phone numbers for free (Verizon) so I can deny access to the really obnoxious telemarketers. Sort of feels like payback when I get to block them. Small victory, I know, but still feels pretty good.
Good luck.

I just received a call from that number on my cell as well. Does it eat up minutes when they do that? And really how do they get my cell info???

Just rec'd a call too - on my CELL. How do these buggers get my data? - I read it's sold by my mobile provider for extra coins in their well-lined pockets. That said, I add these numbers to my contacts as spam, telemarketers, etc. and never pickup. Cheers!
