call my home reporting fraud alert from washington mutual and left message, called my cell phone also and did not leave a message

tired of calls to my cell from no one I know

just received a call on my cell phone but i did not answer and no one left a message.  i googled the # and a lot of the 925-738-xxxx show up as WAMU or Washington Mutual.

Whoever called asked for a name similar to mine, but if it's legit; why can't they i.d. themselves. If it was a legit call, they would tell who they are; period!

Called my cell phone and hung up when I answered, then dialed my work number and did the same thing.

Wamu Fraud. Pretty sure it was them as they gave me transaction details from my card without me giving them any info.

I had reported a dispute to WAMU and received a phone call on my cellular from a girl that sounded to be a teenager, speaking rapidly and indicating she was from WAMU.  She was incredibly hateful on the phone and asking for information that I suspected was a phishing attempt.  I stated that I was driving at the time and would attend to the matter from my landline, should WAMU require any further information.  She proceeded to tell me that I should "pull over and discuss the matter; answer these questions - otherwise I would have to pay the amount I was disputing".  What a BI***.  Upon returning home, I found it odd that I had received a WAMU notice and it indicated their toll-free numbers.  I did not return the call to this number, again, as the number's CallID information was Out-Of-Area.

I received a call on my cell phone from 925-738-5643 today.  The caller new my name, cell phone number, and address.  The caller claimed to be from the Washington Mutual Fraud department.  He asked if I had recently applied for a new Master Card from Washington Mutual.  I said no.  I said that I had recently activated my new WAMU Master Card / Debit card.  He then gave me four numbers and asked if they matched the card.  I said no.  He said he would cancel the card.  Leary of such questions over the phone, I did not give him any additional information than that which he obviously already had.  I will now be ordering my credit report and seeing if such an account was ever actually opened or applied for (by checking for credit inquiries.)

I called WAMU at their credit card service number 866-892-9268.  I got that number from WAMU's web site.  After going through some questions, the WAMU representative confirmed that their had been an application made for a credit card in my name.  She told me that it had already been canceled per an earlier call to me from their fraud prevention department.  She then verified that the call I got earlier was in fact from WAMU.

Even with that, as we all know, if you get calls from an unknown number claiming to be from a company, hang up and call them back at the 1-800 number on their website.

They called here today... 925 738-5643. They hung up when I answered the line.

I received a call from this number. I don't answer any calls I don't recognize. They did leave a message saying they were from the WAMU fraud department. I later found out it was in reference to a new credit card. I had activated the card and, for some reason, their system didn't recognize my home number on their caller ID. Since it was a new card and activated from what they considered a number other than my home phone they put a fraud alert on my account. I'm glad I finally found out what they wanted and cleared the problem since I got this card for the deal they had on balance transfer (1 yr % interest and no transaction fee) and would have hated to have a problem with the transfers. Funny thing is, the caller ID on this call said Pro Financial. If it had said WAMU I would have answered since that is where we have all of our banking accounts.

I got a call from this number and answered it, which was a recording that stated, "This is Washington Mutual and this is not a sales call.  Please call Nova at 800-480-7230 or hold on the line for more information."  I held on and a live woman got on the line and asked me for my account number, either my back account numbers or my credit card number would be fine.  I said that I wasn't going to give out such information, and she said that that was fine, to just call the number on the back of the credit card then and I could speak to the WAMU representatives there instead. Which I did.  They stated they didn't know whose number that was, but did a quick trace on it and told me it was one of their own numbers.  The person looked over my account and said that everything looks absolutely fine, so they didn't know why anyone would be calling me, and to expect a letter in the mail about it then.

I just got a similar call.  They asked to speak with me by first name and when I said this is she, they hung up.

JUST GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AND THE LADY SAID SOMEONE TRY TO WRITE A 2500 CHECK IN MY NAME.  I GAVE HER MY JOB NUMBER AND TOLD HER TO CALL ME BACK THERE.  WHEN SHE CALLED ME BACK I LISTEN TO WHAT SHE SAID AND AS SHE WAS TALKING i WAS PUTTING THIS NUMBER IN THE COMPUTER.  WHEN THE SEARCH CAME BACK I GOT THIS SITE.  WHILE I WAS TALKING TO HER I WAS READING THE COMMENTS AND SHE STARTED TO ASK ME IF I WAS SUCH AND SUCH AND IF MY SOCIAL ENDS WITH THIS AND IF i LIVE AT SUCH AND SUCH AND I SAID NO TO ALL HER QUESTIONS AND THEN SHE TOLD ME OH IM SORRY THEN I GUESS WE GOT THE WRONG PERSON.  SHE SAID SHE WILL SPEAK TO HER SUPERVISOR AND THEN IF SHE NEEDS ANYTHING SHE WILL CALL ME BACK.  GOOD THING I DID A SEARCH ON THE NUMBER AND FOUND OUT ITS CRAP.

I called WANU's main number 206 461 2000 but they failed to verify the numbers. Be careful : DO NOT GIVE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.

I recieved a call from this number on my cell and they hung up. I called back and they asked for my 16 digit card number and social. I did not eneter it and the representitive got on the phone and continued to try and pressure me for the info. I stated that I did not have a WAMU account and hung up.

I called the real WAMU number and they stated that this number had no affiliation with WAMU. The rep took my info and assured me that I did not have an account.

I called the 925-738-5643 back and asked to speak to a supervisor who continued to try and obtain a social security number. When I did not give my social he asked for the number that they called on and my name. As soon as I gave my name they hung up on me.

I think this company is a phishing or a fraud service trying to obtain your information. I probably gave them to much with my name alone. Credit card companies do not call cellular numbers for the most part.

Be carefull of this call I think it is rather fishy!

The lady on the phone said she was from the fraud department and since I had my credit card stolen in April and had made this person go to jail, I started to answer her.  She was not very nice on the phone and she said that it did not add up right and that she had talked with the suspect's wife.  Now can you believe that after your a victim of a identity theft she was going to choose the wifes story.  I had to call the district attorney to call this lady(Patti) at a 1-800-999-7597, but on my caller id the number of 925-738-5643 came up.  Washington Mutual had already sent me papers and i sent them back with the police report and charges did disappear and then I got this call from this lady and she was really nasty.

Yes Got call on my Cell and the I got call on my Work cell.

I don't what was the purpose of the call. Before I answered the call they hanged up the call.

Said was with Washington Mutual Fraud ...Had information on my account. . .Didn't ask for anything from me.
