Got a call at 8:45pm, rang twice and they hung up. Recorded as a missed call, no message.

They ran a "contest" at Camping World. I'd bet every entry is a winner...

They call , I answer, I hear laughing, they hang up, thats all....

they called at 8:20 PM with no message left, also on the National DNC list.  wish these people would look so they will not get into trouble with the government

Let's pose parallel questions. Stand by the shoulder of your nearest highway and shout, "Why is the speed limit sign NOT WORKING????!!???!!!????!" Watch someone light a cigarette and screech in her face, "Why is the cancer warning on the package NOT WORKING???!!!?????!!??!?????"

You wouldn't scream those things because they sound absurd. Highway signage cannot uproot and walk out into traffic. Paper packaging cannot swat the cigarette from one's hand. A phone number printed on a list cannot block, deflect, or destroy phone calls to that number. A speeder *makes a choice* to risk a police stop. A smoker *makes a choice* to risk terminal disease. An illegal telemarketer *makes a choice* to ignore the opt-out notice we give through a no-call registry.

Honest companies which value your business obey the Telemarketing Sales Rule and the TCPA and insist that their hired call centers scrub their dialers for DNC-registered numbers. Thieves and scammers don't care about laws or your rights, hiding behind cheap VOIP accounts and spoofed numbers. Those very tools which enable the lawbreaker's concealment also frustrate its prosecution. Many have been nailed by the FTC, attorneys general, and private citizens in the past five years. Others are like catching smoke in a milk jug.

The nature and scope of the US Do-Not-Call registry was never kept secret. Here is the FTC FAQ page which the DNC site repeatedly invited you all to read before you registered your numbers.

Called this afternoon - did not answer and they left no message.  It's nice to see other people posting here so we can avoid harassing calls or scammers.

Person called (not a robot, not a spam call) and asked for "Michael".

Person called (not a company/not a robot call) asking for "Michael"...yeah, I've had this number since 2009.

I missed a call from these people on Sunday. I googled the number and found this post. To avoid unwanted calls, I just save them in my contacts as "scam" and my phone gives me an option to automatically block calls from that number. My phone won't even ring and they don't even get a chance to come through. Do not call lists are such a joke. I am grateful my phone has that feature. Check your phone to see. You have to save it as a contact for that option to show up though. I have an HTC Amaze.

Called to say I won a 1-year membership and an Android Tablet. I would just need to come down in the next 30 days for a free 2-night stay and attend a 90-minute presentation. Not exactly a "no-strings" contest to me. I have no idea where they got my info as I don't own a camper or boat. Probably from a contest I entered.

I've managed telemarketing vendors in the past and I have to give the girl on the phone credit. She was good and a very natural conversationalist. If she didn't mention the 90-minute presentation, I might have believed I really won something.

New call from this number.  Called at 8:45PM !!  As of today have gotten about 6 unwanted calls today from various harassment callers.!  Why is the "Do Not Call List"  NOT  working ??????????????

It's a camping resort membership. You prob bought a recent trailer or motorhome.
