I'm also on the DO NOT CALL list but I keep getting these calls every couple of weeks. Thank God, I don't answer them 'cause I don't recognize the number...sounds like a scam to me!

I have recieved several calls from this number but I wasnt home.
The Canadian do not call list doesnt work as these arent Canadian companies and not held by Canadian Law.
Two years ago I followed through a call from a similar phone number offering to lower my existing credit card interest rates for only $600 US dollars. I pretended I would take their offer but I told them I had to think about it after much pushing on my part I got a real number and contact name. I 'Googled' the number and it was a United States based company.
I called my bank to see if this company was legit to find out that all these scammers do is call your credit card holder and request an interest reduction which any card holder can do for FREE.
After I got my interest lowered for FREE, I called 'Nick' at the scammer company and thanked him for showing me how I could lower my own interest for free............ HE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When the calls continued over a few weeks with the same "push 1", again followed by different agents reading the exact same script (or lies) I got fed up.
I called all over CANADA to no avail as it was an AMERICAN company.
After several calls around the US I finally got RESULTS with the Federal Trade Commission (1-877-382-4357). It is AGAINST US LAW to use an autodialer (ie the recorded 'push 1 now') to sell ANYTHING. FTC was unsure if this law extended to calls orignitating in the US going to Canada but it lead to a huge investigation of the scam company and within 2 weeks the calls stopped.
If you can convince the person that you are the next sucker, just before you give them permission to scam you say you need to "think it over" or "check with your spouse". Ask for a number to call back and contact person. Google the valid number, if they are from the US call the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION (FTC) at 1-877-382-4357. The FTC does require a VALID contact number OR company name to lodge a complaint.
UPDATE: I called the FTC number to ensure it was still valid to find that the US now has a "DO NOT CALL LIST". Access online at donotcall.gov or call 1-888-382-1222. I called and registered on their list so hopefully these new calls will stop. Or if they call when I am home I will play them until I get the necessary info to report them to the FTC if they turn out to be US based company.

We keep getting calls from this number. It's an automated message saying they have made several attempts to contact us in regards to lowering a credit card rate. I only have one credit card and I've called them to see if it them that is calling and it's not. Red Flag! Don't give out credit card info to anyone over the phone

This is the second or third time this damn number has called me. They call about the same old crap each and every time.
I wish there was a way to get rid of them.
THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THEM.
PLEASE MAKE THEM GO AWAY.
I never buy from telemarketers 2011-06-06 21:07:28 Unknown
"We have made several attempts to contact you" -- FALSE!
"... lower your rate on your VISA or MasterCard ..."
"Do you have more than $3000 charged to your card?".
When I said 'NO', she said "have a nice day", and hung-up on me.
I used '*60' (Shaw Home Telephone) to call-block all future calls from this number. :-)

Have received called from this number prev but usually hang up, today I answered it, gave no information but they were very rude and used profane language, threatened to have every agent call my number and said he was going to raise my interest rate, then hung up. Calling company unknown.

Eric - Toronto, Canada
I get this approach every couple of months - an Automated Dialing Announcement Device (A.D.A.D) saying that I can get lower interest rates on my credit card(s). The phone number changes each time but the message is the same.
When I connected to a live operator, I asked her where she was calling from; she said that she was calling from California. This is surely a scam - how can an American company give me lower rates on my credit card(s)
I played along until the operator asked me for my phone number. I replied that I don't give out my phone number to people that I don't know. She persisted three times asking me for my phone mumber, so I hung up
The company information is:
Freedom Choice Financial
4885-A McKnight Road, Suite # 200
Pittsburg, PA 15237
888-385-4030
From: http://whocalled.us/lookup/9292009110
If you dial *57 it reports the last number that you received to the police department. So I did it and I also contacted rogers and they filed a complaint and I will also cal the ontario provincial police and file harrassment.
Or in Canada, your cae report the call the R.C.M./P at:
Phone Busters: 1-888-495-8501)

Just another capitalist scam. This is the nature of the system we live in. Imagine how many elderly individuals are frightened by the intro-call demanding that they immediately press number one to talk to some maggot con artist in order to clear up the problem with their credit card-- by revealing it. Bank's,Insurance company's and Major Corporations steal by different methods.

Called several times pushed "2" numerous times, told them not to call numerous times. I am registered with the do not call registry and have filed a complaint. Please anyone who receives a call go to the website and register a complaint takes 5 minutes lets be these jerks at their own game. As for the person that commented that the Do Not Call Registry is useless - What is your solution just ignore these guys and do nothing? Looks like that is working wonderful.

If the company is from the US call the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION (FTC) at 1-877-382-4357. The FTC does require a VALID contact number OR company name to lodge a complaint.
RCMP - Phonebusters and any other CANADIAN organization is USELESS to try as it is an AMERICAN company.
Also the US has a "DO NOT CALL LIST" that Canadians can add there phone numbers too. Access online at donotcall.gov or call 1-888-382-1222.

After getting 9 calls in 2 months, pressed 0 to bypass msg and go straight to live person. Asked for the supervisor. 'Supervisor' came. As soon as I asked about why they keep calling they said "stand by" and hung up.
Bim 2011-06-06 21:07:28 Unknown
I couldn't believe what I was hearing - I wish I could have taped it. I pushed 1 - but my phone battery was dying so I asked for his number so I could call him back. He said it was only inbound calls and wouldn't give me the number. So I asked where he was located and where the company is: he gave me "Junior Johnston" in California working for "Card Services." He refused to give a call back number so I could confirm who I'm dealing with by calling back. So I told him his phone advertising is based on deception and that I don't have a credit card. He hung up. Took about 5 to 6 minutes of his time. It was definitely a shady experience.

Getting weekly calls from this number (and others) offering to lower interest rates. Press 3 to remove your name from the calling list (which does not work) press 1 to speak to a representative. If you press 3, and ask a real person to remove your name, they will immediately hang up on you.
Today I received the same call, from a different number (1-904-863-0208), pressed 1 to speak to someone, and asked to speak to their supervisor. She asked if there was anything she could help me with, and when i said no, she promptly hung up on me.
a+ 2011-06-06 21:07:28 Unknown
Just got a call to lower my interest rate... (ok I did press 1... but I wanted my name on their do not call list) I told Tony from Card Services that I was on the do not call list & they should check it. He said they don't. BUT we are calling about your credit card... (Implying they are legit and have my credit card info.) I asked them what credit card I have, he said Visa & Mastercard. I told him he was wrong & he hung up.
The phone # that called me was 929-200-9110.

This number calls me every week and has been doing so for months. I have asked numerous times to be removed and they hang up on me. Once, I asked to speak to a supervisor and they hung up on me.
If you "play with them" as if you are seriously interested, they want you to give them your credit card number....DON't DO IT!
Sandy 2011-06-06 21:07:28 Unknown
No message ever left too persistant for my liking. Do NOT call me again.
ED 2011-06-06 21:07:28 Unknown
I like the idea of deafening the person at the other end with a whistle.
But it'll also be fun to string them along for a couple of minutes and make them think they're going to get some info.....

Getting tired of these calls. Why can't the authorities shut these scam artists down? I receive fewer legitimate calls than from these shysters.

Yet another call from this number, I've had at least 20 calls.
Get a life! 2011-06-06 21:07:28 Unknown
These bastards call almost daily and it is a SCAM! DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION, NOT EVEN YOUR NAME, as I'm sure they would steal your identity! Today when they called I pressed 1 to speak with someone and flushed the toilet in their ear! I'm going to give them a hard time and waste as much time of theirs as they are of mine. Also am reporting this to phonebusters.
Sick of these aholes 2011-06-06 21:07:28 Unknown
Keep getting a call every afternoon once my baby is napping. Tired of having to rush to the phone to find out it is the same scam! Asking them to take you off their list is useless, I hope they just get sick of calling and stop but I'm sure another scam using another number will take its place as a couple other numbers used to do this and then stopped but now I have to deal with these scumbags! DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO! IT IS A SCAM!!!!!
Angry 2011-06-06 21:07:28 Unknown
I just received a call from these guys again!! I decided to press one to talk to someone about being removed from the calling list. I was very polite and the guy immediately hung up on me.
Dusty Graham 2011-06-06 21:07:28 Unknown
