They called me saying they were from Card Services and offering me a last chance to lower my interest rate. When I asked for which credit card, the man just hung up. What a scam! They need to catch this crook!!!
Aumaan 2011-06-06 21:07:28 Unknown
Same junk, I keep telling them to put me on the do-not call list and they hang up before I finish the sentence.

This was a computer dialed call from "Card Services" (31 Aug 2010). I pressed #1 and a girl offered to lower my interest rate to 6%. I asked for which of my credit cards? She hung up before I finished my sentence.
How can we track down these guys? Who do we complain to?

931-252-2609 called today. Told me that my chance to lower my credit card was expiring. I pressed 1 to find out who was calling, All the guy on the other end would tell me is that once I pressed number 1, I was transfered to their number, (but he told me that he could not tell me what was his number was) and EXPERIAN was the original dialer and I needed to call them on the number that showed up on my caller ID. Calling that number resulted in a message that said they are not accepting calls at this time. SCAM SCAM SCAM. Need I say any more ???

This says they are from "Card Services" and I have received 3 calls from this number on my work phone that I have not given out really. I get to talk to a live person and ask them to take me off their call list and they hang up on me every time.

Just got a call from 931-252-2609 on my Washington state (near Seattle) local government Verizon cell phone. Same recorded message as everyone else - nothing is wrong with your credit card account but you can lower your interest rate.
When I pushed "1" I was transferred to someone saying that the Obama administration had "given all the money to the credit card companies" and "they could charge as much as they want in some states". Before I cut him off and hung up he started to ask "qualifying questions" such as do you have at least $5K in credit card debt and how many cards do you have.
The number came up as "Tennessee" when he called. After I pushed him on his location he said he was in Florida and he had no call back number. His accent sounded like the Philadelphia/NJ/lower NY area.

"It" called again today (05/04/2010) around the same time, with the same ol' song an' dance. This was suppossed to be my last chance (I should be so lucky)! I wish someone would call and sell me something I can USE, like some "hi tech" phone tracing communications equipment that would enable me to turn the tables, and have me some fun!

I recieved a call from this number on my cell phone. I don't even know my own # without looking it up. It's a number I have only ever given to close friends and family. How the hell these people got ahold of it is beyond me. Not to mention that I live on the opposite side of the country from DC.

Just got the same call from these scammers to a Seattle phone number
Wildbill 2010-09-01 18:58:00 Unknown
I didn?t answer the first time and checked this site. The next time it was only me and the dog in the house. It?s Go time! I answered and drill the menus until I got a person. I was real nice ? how ya doin? type stuff then told her I know times are tough and all ?but I have more pride than to work for a #!@%$#$% company like yours?. I got in a few more ?choice? words in before she hung up (even got in the C word). The dog put her paws over her ears. They haven?t called back.

quit calling my cell phone. I have no credit cards...
you are wasting my minutes on my cell phone....
I answered then pushed 1 to talk to someone. Then a man answered and I told them to quit calling my cell phone and that I don't have any credit card then the a-hole hung up on me.

I have received several calls from this number on my cell phone. They call claiming to be able to lower my credit card interest rates, but I DON"T OWN any CREDIT CARDS!! I only have bank cards, which are currently (before banks change their policies, interest rate free.
Its annoying...how do I block them?
Andrew 2010-09-01 00:36:42 Unknown
I thought it was a friend, though I thought it was weird that it didn't show up as her name. But then I got it and I heard "credit card," and hung up because it doesn't apply to me (I don't even HAVE a credit card). Then I realized it may have been an actual person, and I should have told her that I didn't have one.
Then I did a search for the number and found this. I guess it's no loss, other than the dollar it cost me to actually answer my pay-as-you-go phone.
I live in Pennsylvania though, not DC. Maybe they're branching out?
megan 2010-09-01 00:24:31 Unknown
the same thing just happened to me do you know the name of it by chance?
Megan 2010-09-01 00:22:44 Unknown
these people call me all the time and i tell them not to call me, or at least i did the first fur times. then i pressed one to talk to someone, and i asked her how she got my cell number then she hung up on me... the one thing that i find really wierd is that i dont even have a credit card...
unk 2010-09-01 00:17:41 Unknown
This # just called my cell phone, but it didn't leave a voicemail or anything. I googled the # as soon as the phone went off (it just showed Tennessee on the ID) and saw what everyone else wrote. I don't even have a credit card! I hate these stupid random calls :S
