same old same old

I received this same message recorded on my answering machine on Sept. 20, 2011, but from a different phone number. My call shows on caller Id as 931-490-2028 New Image, which is a number from Tennessee just as the 931-840-9781 is. The caller, Anthony Carter from the Awards Confirmation Center, left  the same message as the previous posters received but said to call him back at 888-495-5208.
This is an old scam that evidently has been going on for a few years.

Just so you know, 931-840-9781, 800-550-0064 & 888-227-2127 are all the SAME people! So, I had a missed call today on my home phone and this woman left a message stating that I had won either a 2011 Ford Explorer OR $25,000 in Cash. Cool, so either way I won a big money prize, right? Not likely. It was clearly a "monkey with a script" call as, (1) you could hear her eating while making the call AND (2) you could easily hear people in the background repeating the EXACT SAME lines she just spoke (except for her name of course). She stated that her name was Lou-Anne Starling (with a very thick New Jersey accent) and she worked at "Awards Confirmation Center". If that company name doesn't scream SCAM, then nothing does. She then goes further into her little spiel and says that I should call immediately to claim one of the THREE top prizes. Wait a minute, you just said at the beginning of the message that I had already won either the 2011 Ford Explorer OR the $25k. That's only TWO available prizes. I can count sweetheart, can you? You didn't say anything about a THIRD (more the likely junk) prize. Sniff Sniff. What's that smell? Smells like something fishy. Yeah, I'll definitely be reporting this call to the FTC, FCC, etc.

I have received the same call as TYtooner, I am pretty sure it is a way to get you to go see a timeshare property....They ask what you make so you can quaify to buy one of the timeshare units...I dont know if the prize giveaway is legit, I have never gone to one of the 90 min seminars....

Received three calls from "Suzanne" at the "Awards Confirmation Center" in just minutes from 931-840-9781 last evening.  I let each one go to the answering machine (as I usually do).  Was advised that I had entered a contest about a year ago for a Ford Explorer or $25K cash.  Contest period had closed but I had won some other premium.  They left an 800 number for return call.  I don't remember entering ANY contest for a FORD, so I haven't returned that call yet...came here by way of Google to see whut up wid dat.

Received call asking for "Patricia." No one here by that name. Who are you and why do you keep calling? Well, "Patricia" entered this contest and we wanted to tell her she's won one of the top 3 prizes. That's nice. Still no one here by that name, no one here entered any contest, please remove us from your list. At this point the caller gets angry, snaps that "there IS no list, but THANK YOU ANYWAY" and SLAMS the phone down. Can we say SCAM??

I received a call on my cell phone from this number - telling me to call 1-800-550-0064 from Jen...
I have not nor will I call this number back.  if I really won something they must by law inform you thru documentation and/ or mail.

another question how could I have won a car or $25,000 but qualify for the top 3 prizes...things that make you go hum?

These people keep calling saying I won a new Ford truck.But then they ask how much my income is and then tell me I don't qualify, because my income is beloww the amount they quote.
