okay so i work for etech inc been here for more than 1 year. this is a fortune 500 company who takes on contracts for other companies who you apparently do business with. you ppl are so stupid you don't realize that we are trying to help you by offering service upgrades on services you already have. we try to let you know about promotions and also we want to help you save money by offering discounts for upgrading.you all have business relationships with whatever company we call you representing, so the donotcall does not really apply.the silence is because of an auto-dialer and it is policy that we not leave a message on your machine.so if you are rude to an agent you will keep getting calls until you either take the service or politely ask to not be called anymore.the rest of you are just idiots who like to overpay for your services!!!

This is a hoot! AT&T says they will help prevent harrassing calls but this caller is an AT&T approved telemarketer.

I get a call every night around 6pm from this number. When I answer they hang up; or if I let it roll to the answering machine, they hang up.

Been getting these once or twice a day at various times.   Always let it go to vm but never any message.   Glad to get the proper caller-id though.

If it's AT&T like some say, they will never stop.  I have done everything in my power to get them to stop calling me and sending me uverse junk mail.  Unfortunately if you ever have done ANY business with them, they are not bound by do-not-call.  If anyone knows how to get them to stop, please speak up and be a hero.
I have an AT&T land line, and would have given it up years ago but my SO thinks we need to keep it.  The only way I keep my sanity is that I have a phone that you can totally mute.  $40 per month for a landline that is nothing but a nuisance.  Good luck.

they call every day and never leave a message. We choose not to answer and after finding this info, we NEVER will.

I have been getting call also from this number. What I did was I used defferent phone and somebody answer at the end, when I ask if this Effective tele did not answer and I know who ever at the end still listning so I leave a message that I show my telephone to the police still in caller ID that they don't stop calling. As of now I did not recieve anymore so far. Also I did the same thing call that 10 time a day with defferent phone.

I've gotten calls from them for two days and it suddenly came to me how they got my newly non-published number. One of my family members went to work for a telemarketing company a few days ago (very difficult to get jobs these days so some people have to take what they can get) and I asked this person if they had given this telemarketing company my number. Sure enough, they had given it as a part of their application as their emergency number. As soon as this company got my number from their employee they started harassing me with daily phone calls.

The name of the company is not Effective Teles, which comes up on the caller ID, but the fact that it happened the same day she went to work is too much of a coincidence. My number has not been given out to anyone and I haven't called their number for any reason, ever.

So if you have a family member who is going to work for a telemarketing firm, be sure to tell them NOT to give your number as an emergency number. They are unethical enough to use it to harass your family.

Got this call twice a day, never leave a message for about a month now.

Received two calls from this company. Both are listed as "missed calls" on my ID display.

GOOD IDEA about getting the shepherd to bark in their ear!!  Mine will bark on command.  I'll do that next time these idiots call.  Thanks!!

Got one too.  Answering machine results in no message.  I do not answer any of the many "spam" phone calls I can identify.

these people call many times a day. it is very annoying. i just let it ring. thank goodness for caller id.

My voicemail picked it up.  Upon playback, its recording made it sounded like that I was waiting to have them answer my call to them.  The nerve!

These goofs call around 7 p.m......not everyday but a few times a week.  They never leave a message.  If I thought that someone would actually be listening, I'd blow a loud whistle into the phone.

I've been getting calls from Effective Teles every day for months. It's 8:30 p.m. and they just called again right as I'm trying to get my 2 young kids to sleep! They are blocked on my phone, but even the one ring is annoying. You'd think these idiots would get the hint. I was hoping someone here would have suggestions, but I guess I just have to continue trying to ignore them.

I don't answer the calls, thanks to caller ID. I am supposed to be on the "do not call list" but stuff like this gets through.

They've been after me for months.  I'll call and report them to DoNotCall.gov.

I have been getting these calls every day. doesn't matter the time of day. I do not answer and they do not leave a message. How do you stop them?

Everyone here stating they are on the "Do Not Call List" - listen up!   Within those guidelines established by the FTC, if you are being contacted by a representative of a telephone/internet/cable company that you had business with until recently [perhaps you changed carriers], they [the telephone company] have a "contract" with you that goes 18 months after you've cancelled them.  So calling the FTC, being on the do not call list, etc., means NOTHING if this is a telemarketer that your phone carrier contracts with to call you to whoo you back to them.  If you don't answer, they can probably send a carrier pidgeon to your yard to poop on your roof.
