Someone named David Washington, supposedly from PCH, call my mother's number thismorning early, and said she had won 2.5 million dollars and $500,000 cash and a mercedes, but she should go to a western union or money graham and get $300 and give it to them at 1:30 pm today, later they said 1:00 pm, to cover shipping and handling.  i have checked this, and called local police, who say it is a scam.  i googled PCH, who say they NEVER ask for money to get their prizes.  THIS IS A SCAM.  The person could barely pronounce the words, her name or los angeles or any of the other scam words.
BEWARE THIS IS A SCAM AND DO NOT EVEN STAY ON PHONE.  DO NOT CALL THEM BACK.

7:05 pm Received phone call from 1-936-856-8639 from "Phoenix Vacation".  Offering some sort of "free" vacation. Ask to speak to supervisor regarding the call.  He was "busy".  Advised caller this was a registered "do not call" number and that I was recording the conversation.  Surprise?  He hung up on me!

This # called and it had lots of camotion in the back ground. I said " Excuse me I can't understand you". He or she said " Oh no habla Ingles". and hung up. To me it sound like a homosexual. That was ackward.

My mother-in-law and myself received phone calls from this phone number. We weren't home so we never knew who was calling. Weird thing is that we live a few blocks from each other, different houses, different home phone numbers but the same phone call on the same night within half hour of each other. We need to warn others of this.

Called at 9pm and asked for me by name.  Indicated they were from something vacations - I couldn't understand with the thick accent.  I told them that I didn't think that 9pm was an appropriate time to call and they asked if I would just give them 30 seconds.  I said "I don't think so" and hung up.  We are also on the do not call list.

Caller claimed to call from Phoenix Travel. Heavy foreign accent, and background noise consistent with a large callcenter. Caller hung up after I mentioned being on the DoNotCall list.

I've been getting this call to. I looked it up on Google phoneb ook and it's coming from someone in Texas named Dorothy Campbell. 87 Rolling Hills Dr,Conroe, TX 77304 is the address that also appears, I'm unsure if it's a company at all or if it's just a scam

When i answered my phone, who ever it was calling me, just hung up on me. Didnt say one word..

Have had several calls from this number.  They have a heavy accent and even after being told we are on the NO CALL list continue to call.  It is to the opint of being nasty to them, but they still persist.

This number called and on when I wasn't home but when I called it back it said that it wasn't a working number. I googled it and came up with the name of Dorothy Campbell 87 Rolling HIlls Dr., Conroe, TX  77304

They told me I won a vacation trip of my choice to Orlando, FL, Caribbean or Las Vegas, NV and her manager gave me the name of Sylvia Gonzalez

Did not answer it. I have caller ID. Ran a search on the internet & came up with the same name & address as previous listed on this site.

ANOTHER call from "Texas" 936-856-8639 yesterday, August 28, 2008 @ 3:05 p.m., CST. This time I started questioning HER right away-same female with thick accent, would not let her get a word in edgewise & she hung up!

8-27-08 - Rock Island, Illinois - Received a call today from 936-856-8639 (Caller ID had no name, just Texas), a female was asking for my boss and could not pronounce his name, nor speak English very well. She then wanted to speak to the individual "handling our Mastercard or Visa Merchant accounts" When I questioned who she was & what company she was from, there was silence followed by hearing her talk to a man (also with a thick accent) asking him what to say. I simply hung up. Bad vibes from this one...sounds like attempts at scams.

WE have rec'd two calls from this number but they do not leave a voicemail.  We are on the Do Not Call Registry so I think I'll add that to my voicemail message.  Viewing the comments above, I will not answer these calls from them. I too searched the internet and came up with the same name and Conroe, Texas, which I believe is right outside Houston.  I believe that you can report them to the Nat'l Do Not call list.  Not sure though.  We seem to be getting a significant number of marketing calls lately.

They have called me at least three times. I've told them each time to never call again. They keep calling even though I'm on the do not call list.

To add the above: a phone number can be registered under any name, e.g. my phone number is under a non-existing US name. Therefore, whenever someone asks for Maria, I know they got my phone number from the phone book.
However, land records must be registered under true & legal name. So, the person still can be foreigner, just changed her name to an American name (so many people doing that). Or simply the phone number was owned by the woman mentioned before and now someone else got that and uses that... Who knows... I did not look up the current phone book, but the recent edition (paper one) should reflect the true owner associated with this number. My experience is that I-net phone books are not as updated as we'd expect it. To note, I am on do not call list, too...

Called 5 PM CDT on June 16, 2008. Caller in a heavy foreign accent, sounds of a call center. When I told her I was on teh do not call list and demanded an address and phone number, she said she could only give me the phone number. Couldn't hear all of it, it was 1-800-465-2???.
Said they were from Phoenix Travel.

I just got a call today around 5:30pm, but I think I have received calls from this ph# in the past.  I wasn't able to get the call, so it went to my v-mail.  The caller left no message.  I called it back, & got a recording telling me that ph# was disconnected, & I should hang up & try my call it again.  This means that it was some Company's computer making the call.  I also looked up the ph# in google.com, & got the Dorothy Campell on 87 Rolling Hills, Conroe, TX..  I didn't know anyone with the name of Dorothy Campbell, but I do know people in the Conroe, Huntsville, TX areas with this area code.

Answer the call, say "yes, hold on" and put the phone down. A bit childish but I've had many chuckles... They usually hang up after a minute.

hang-up call

Some company has apparently sold a "call list" to a number of companies. I don't know where it originated but it begin shortly after purchasing a new Chrysler and joining AAA.

My phone company doesn't allow call block for this number.  I can't understand why not.  It's not an 800 number, nor is it a non-profit organization.  I plan to call AT&T about it tomorrow.

They are calling again, after a few months of quiet.  I did not answer the phone.  Caller ID show D Campbell.  The address on the web is Conroe, Texas.  I'm about ready to get a bull horn and blast it in their ear the next time they call.  We ARE on the Do Not Call registry but apparently they don't care.

Telemarketer was trying to entice me to attend a 90 minute presentation in Dallas for a travel club using gas cards and a free vacation.  Don't fall for this!

found it on the caller ID in Gilbert AZ 7:40 pm.   I am on all the do not call registries so they should not be calling.  How do we report them to the appropriate authorities?  I have enough to do without answering and dodging unsolicited calls--- then to spend time looking up who it was; racking my brain for a dorthy campbell age 73 in willis tx from our past. Was it a friend of my mom's, an old teacher?  LOL and then I find this.  Thanks guys for clearing that up.
