SAME thing just happened to mel  Melissa, at 936-873-7418 texted and wanted to buy my craigslist item without even inspecting the items.  of course, JUST wanted to use paypal..... I googled the phone phone number and found ALL your posts.  THANK YOU THANK YOU for helping me avoid a scammer on craigslist!

Yep. "Melissa" asked about the condition of my piano I had for sale on Craigslist, immediately followed by the question 'do you have an account with paypal?' Scam.

Glad this site exists. "Melissa" is trying to scam me as we speak.  Gotta love scammers.

Dont trust this number. Im being scamed right now. Thank God for this site. I was scamed once with a mailed in check. Dont trust that ether.

Tried to scam me also. Freaking idiot threatened to "call the authorities".

Same here...got a "text" from Melissa and after a few questions she asked if i have a paypal account...I texted her to "go try and sucker another fool"...no response lol!!
Seriously I hope Karma comes knocking on this persons/peoples door.

Same number texted me. 6:00am said her name was Melissa. Wanted to send me money via paypal ($15,000.00). Didn't even want pics and had no questions.  I'm in Illinois and said she would arrange to have it picked up. Knowing by now it was a scam,  I said I would drive it there to not pay for transport and could pay in person to avoid paypal fees.  She insisted on arranging pick up and sending extra money to cover the paypal fees.  I even refered her to THIS page.   She didn't see the problem and kept insisting my paypal email to send me money......   Crazy stuff.    Thanks for posting pages like this to help protect people

This person text me at 5:58am.  Who does that for a Craigslist posting??  After looking on this site I noticed that is all they do.  Scam people into "sending" their money paypal.  They tried getting me to set one up so they could send me the money.  I told them no thank you.  Cash only.  Haven't heard from them since.

Correct. That's why many online sellers won't sell to some foreign countries. Africa, & Asia come to mind for some reason. They buy, pay with Paypal, then file a dispute saying they didn't get the item. I cannot understand why all Craigslist, & Kijiji sellers do not put "No Paypal, In person" on their ad. These are local social selling sites, not eBay.

Another warning:  NEVER accept a PayPal payment for an item that was picked up!  If there is no online viewable proof of delivery, a scammer could file and win an Item Not Received case!

This guy tried to scam me from Craigslist
He sent paypal payment notifications that were fake

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK YOUR ACTUAL PAYPAL ACCOUNT BEFORE YOU BUY INTO THIS GUY'S BALONEY!

AND BTW, PAYPAL EMAILS DON'T SHOW UP IN YOUR SCAM BOX LIKE THIS GUY TRIES TO TELL YOU!
