I am a grad of U of Dayton - as most of the other reports - so this must be related

We called the number back: 937-229-3066. It IS the University of Dayton Alumni office. Why they're calling me, I have no idea. You can leave a voice mail asking them to stop calling you. Their message gives a lot of information about applying for a job as a "caller"--apparently, they are now hiring. They also give the name and number of the director of the alumni office.

I am a UD graduate school alum. Back when I was a student, the school was great to me. But, all of higher education has become just one big money racket. Today's tuition cannot be morally justified across the board. Feeding the beast is simply the wrong thing to do. The whole system needs to be torn town and rebuilt.

Kind of funny/weird; it looks like their phone system has issues. When I answered, I was placed in the middle of a live conversation, and then it disconnected. When I Googled the number, I landed at the Univ. of Dayton (and I am an alumn) with this message: "Contact Office for Students with Disabilities (LEAD) in the Rousche Library LTC at 937-229-3066 or 937-229-3616 (TTY) to coordinate reasonable accommodations for students with documented disabilities." Go figure...

That makes sense because I just got a call with no message from this number and I'm an '85 grad from UD.

this is the University of Dayton alum association seeking donations - I too am a graduate of UD

(937) 229-xxxx is University of Dayton. I just use 937-229-xxxx at random when I don't want to give my real phone number, maybe this is payback. More than likely it's the class reunion folks wanting money - if I want to reunite with people, I'll call them.

(937) 229-xxxx is University of Dayton, so yeah, reunion ($$$) correspondence.

I am a UD chemical engineering alumni. my daughter is currently enrolled there. I donated once after graduation and I think they added me to the call quarterly list! I save the number in my cell as "do not answer". They do not leave messages.

I'm also a UD grad - thanks to all for posting so we can identify unknown calls!

Yet ANOTHER number to add to my many do not answer lists on cell phone :(
Unhappy 2012-07-25 17:12:34 Unknown
I've decided to start giving this number out whenever I need to enter a phone number into a form, and I don't want to enter my real phone number.

I'm not an alum of UD. Never even considered going there. I don't answer the call.

I have ignored their phone calls for months. Today, they used this phone number which does not state who they are.
Its about money.

I keep getting calls from this # how ever I have missed the call everytime they leave no message. You would think if they need something they leave a message or quit CALLING.
Dee 2011-06-06 21:07:31 Unknown
I answered last eve to this caller, was a class reunion call to obtain donations.

I have been getting calls from this number. The claim is that they are from U.D. Whether they are or not, to h*ll with them! I spent untold thousands on them for my Graduate degree. When the day came to graduate, they moved it from a Saturday to a Thursday (Who has family who can get off work in the afternoon?) afternoon. Why? The president wanted to play golf with a few deans and guests on Saturday! I told them then and I mean it still that they will NEVER get another cent from me!

We checked with our daughter who is a current student at the University of Dayton (UD). She said that this caller is claiming to be associated with UD; however, that is false. UD is not actually associated with it. It's just like the "charity" calls we receive for Police associations.
UD grad 2009-09-16 03:03:30 Unknown
WE received a call with no message when we did not answer. My daughter is a graduate of the University of Dayton, as well. So, this may be the caller.

Automated phone systems are a bi***. They are obviously ineffective and a nuisance more than anything else, and I don't know why so many companies would use them. Anyway, I am an alum from the Univ. of Dayton and I think all they want is to update records n such, so said the lady on the other end when I missed the call and called back. I, too, do not want much else to do w UD...I got my very expensive degree, cannot find work, and have thousands in loans...I do not plan on giving them any more money. I don't know why anyone would. The school costs too damn much anyway. Plus, I'm an alum, I paid my dues, why do they need more of MY money? They aren't a "non-profit."
