Got a call from that number (937-250-0270) today, they claimed to be from Dell Tech support and saying that my windows key was registering on their server as not getting updates, since I'm a bit tech savvy myself I told them I know my computers like a back of my hand and that they were getting an error and not to bother me again.

Long story short SCAM from phone # 937-250-0270.

I got a call from this number today from a person claiming to be a third-party tech support provider called "ms windows care".  He told me he was calling to help me with a computer problem detected by microsoft, claiming my computer was not receiving updates and he wanted to find out the problem.   He said his name was "Fletcher Davis".   The callerid showed no info -- blocked -- just read "private name/private number" -- so I was suspicious.   It was a male who sounded fluent in English as a second language -- with perhaps an Indian accent.   I asked, whether he was located in the US, he said he was in India, but the company was headquartered in Las Vegas.   He asked me to go to my computer and type some commands -- told me he knew my "license id number" and that I should check it to verify.   I declined to do this, and asked him if he could prove who he was.  He repeated that he was from "ms windows care", but provided no other evidence.  I asked him for more info., so I could tell this was not some scam.   There was a long pause, during which I hung up.   Afterward, he tried to call back -- this time without callerid blocking, and it showed 937-250-0270.  I didn't answer.   He called three or four times but left no message.

I also got a similar scam call.  I was thankful to see these posts to confirm what I already suspected; this was a scam.  I just wasn't clear if it was unauthorized PC access or money for unnecessary services he was after.

THIS ALSO HAPPENED TO ME. I ASKED WHAT COMPUTER? THEY REPLY BY ASKING FOR YOUR M/S LISC #.
I KNEW FROM EXPERIENCE THAT M/S DOESN'T CALL YOU UNLESS YOU CALL FIRST AND THEN YOU'RE LUCKY WHEN A "REAL" TECH CALLS. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE, TOO MANY GREEDY SKILLFULL BAD PEOPLE OUT THERE!! IT'S SAFEST TO IGNORE UNKNOWN #'S AND LET VOICE MAIL DEFLECT{ AS YOU ALL PROBABLY KNOW}.
THANKS FOR THIS POST, IT MAY HELP ALOT MORE OF PEOPLE, MY BEST REGARDS TO ALL.

Just got a call from that number.  They were saying they had a registration key for my Windows OS, which stopped loading updates, and that they were a 3rd party for Microsoft trying to reach me out to let know of the problem.  When I asked what Windows OS they were after, they could not tell (I assume a 3rd party for Microsoft would have known that from the key that they claimed they had).  When I said I was no longer using Windows, they kept talking asking if I used it in the past, etc. instead of just crossing me out of the list (for there was nothing more to fix from the Microsoft POV).  Total scam!

Caller wants you computer information because they state that your "updates are not processing properly". The number does not work when you call it back. Interesting enough, the phone number that they are calling is in no way shape or form connected to the computer.

SCAM!  Person calling saying they are from "MS Windows Services" saying that they are "receiving error messages" from my Windows computer. I was told my computer was in "danger of crashing" It's a scam designed to elicit money for non-existent "repairs" to your computer.
