I received a message from this number today in regard to a resume that I posted, it was obviously a call center making calls for someone, the lady said "Bankers" and that's it. I'm guessing it was for Bankers Life>???

I received the same message this morning, a women said something about "Bankers" concerning my resume. They must have pulled my resume off Careerbuilder?

Just googled the number (while my phone was ringing) and came here. After posting my resume on several websites I've been receiving automated phone calls. This should be illegal in my opinion.

i just got the same call and message. but i'm not sure i want to call it back since it does sound like a call center. if it was a real job or if they had my resume they should of emailed me

didn't leave a message for me either. but, to echo everyone else, careerbuilder (most likely) must be giving out more information than they claim to. my resume isn't supposed to be searchable and my contact information should only be made available to employers that i actually apply to.
careerbuilder has gone way down hill with quality of employers, ads, saved search agents, allowing training programs to post as employers, etc... i even get more desirable responses from opportunities on hotjobs.

The caller did not leave a message.

I got this call as well. A woman with a foreign accent called, named Janice, saying she was from Bankers Life and Casuality. She says she got my resume from online, probably from CareerBuilders since that's the only one where my resume was public (I've since changed it to "Private"). I found this page and seeing the responses, it seems I would do well to avoid this, as I'm not the least bit interested in any sales positions.

my son is also getting responses to his resumes on Hotjobs and other sites.
He never requested any SALES positions. Yet they keep contacting him over and over again
these sales jobs are ALL based on COMMISSION. not an hourly wage. So you could 40 hours per week and NOT EARN A PENNY.

Just got a double phone call from this number, forgot to turn on my answering machine, now I am glad that I did forget to. I just posted a resume with hot jobs and have been bombarded with emails saying they have job oportunities for me, all looks like insurance sales. Really! Is there no shame!

Just got the same message from Janice. I have recently updated my resume on Monster and have received similar calls and emails from this kind of company daily. I Google each company name and/or phone number and every time, the first search result is reporting a scam or questionable business model.
It is really sad that those of us legitimately trying to find work have to put up with people trying to scam us out of money we probably do not have. I'm sure some are more legit than others, but you have to question all of them.
I've been to several job fairs over the years and at some events, more than half the companies are insurance or investment companies. When you talk to them, you realize you are just cannon fodder for their multi-level marketing mode of operation. If they don't ask you for your money upfront, they will still milk you for all you're worth, one way or another. They will suck your energy and contacts (family and friends who want to help you "succeed") into their scheme, draining you until you give up and they keep the spoils.
Good Luck!
Beware.

Same as others. I just posted my resume online got this call with a job opportunity.
Janice said this is a a work seminar for Banker's Life and Casualty to get into insurance sales. I'm not interested in sales. I had to push her to get this much info. Sounds like they're just trying to get people to go to the seminar. Bet they try to get people to "invest" money.
