Sending fake checks through the mail is a crime so contact the US Postal Service Inspectors https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx
Or take it to your local Post Master.

Answered ad on craigslist about warehouse worker. Got a text and email with job description. Saying first weeks payment ($500 + expenses) enroute to me via FedEx. What arrived was a check for 3,500.19 with an email instructing me to deposit check into my bank for 24 hours. And immediately withdraw money minus my pay and send balance to a freight forwarder supposedly im Massachusetts.  So please beware of anything from craigslist and from someone named Patrick. Company name is sea box inc.  Address 802 industrial highway. East riverton NJ 08077. Name on envelope is Mark E Acker (Ph.d)

Same thing, posting on Craig's list wanting to send me more than asking price and asking me to deposit

Has anyone tried to cash the check?

I got a text from this #asking if i will accept a cashiers check from an item i have listed on craigs list
Saying that after the check clears they will sent their courier after the item. Now i feel like ill have to change my phone#

Scam text message since I do not text. Said something about a check. Probably a lot of crap.

Got the same thing here..... Texted him  needs to be in person with cash per craigslist to avoid scammers

I just got a text in response to a Craigslist listing asking to respond only if I will accept a check for payment. I'm assuming there is something not right here.

I have some adds on Craigslist and got text asking for to get a cashiers check and his mover will pick it up after the check clears my bank.

Just received a text about a listing I have on Craigslist, decided to check out the area code which led me here.  The text to me said:  'please do you still have the posted ad for sale?

I had something for sale on Craigslist. Got a text from this # asking "if the posted ad is for sale".
It sounded fake to me so I googled the # and saw this. Thanks for confirming it is a scam!
