Hello, this is rachael with card services, act now to reduce your cc intrest rate....I've been getting calls from these fools for about a year now. It seems I started to get them when I had contacted Discover about their mortgage program, didn't even have a credit check ran, just info on their rates & stuff. They're a scam, i've had them cuss me, i've tried the push 1 and hold the key down when they answer, I've been nice, I've been mean, but they still keep on calling me. here's some of the other numbers they call from: 938-223-4720 740-984-4247 231-805-6841 256-332-8741 918-866-7810 256-332-8741 231-805-6841 202-633-4781 508-420-7410 877-273-4202 817-583-7506 805-420-7410

I have been receiving calls from this number every day and some times twice a day. I called the number back and it is no longer in service. I did get a unknown number 15 min ago which I never got on my phone, I wish I had answered it now just to see if it is from the same people. It's so annoying when some company plays games.

Received a phone call every day for the past 8 or 9 days. After the first few I have not answered the ring. No one replied when I did answer. Are they trying to discover when we are home? Or just an annoyance.

Yeah.  Wasting a few minutes of your time is more important than wasting the time of the leader of the free world.  And besides, to do something yourself might actually require you to learn how to selectively block incoming calls to your phone.  That's too much like going to school.

The DNC isn't working for these guys because they aren't a legit company. I called and complained to the FTC and the lady I spoke to said they can't do anything about it. I don't blame the FTC or the government, I blame the people calling me trying to scam me.

I used to try and engage the callers, say I had a bunch of debt, anything so they wouldn't immediately hang up and then I'd say "how does it feel committing criminal activity and scamming people out of their money?" 90% of the time they would hang up on me. Once I was told to get a life and only once did the caller fight back and tell me they were legit, hen he gave me fake phone numbers for his company and supervisor. Eventually he swore at me and hung up.

I found answering the phone call, pressing 1 and speaking to these people only increased the amount of calls I received. I still get called but I think it's better to just not even answer these calls.

These calls are not legit. A real company doesn't hang up on you when you ask for the name of their bank,

The US government does not care about such nuisance calls.  Too bad we can't route all calls to the White House or Obama's cell.

12 CALLS OVER 3 DAYS (they skipped Sunday)

Third call alone to day - started at 9 am, called again at 11:30am, called again a 3pm

Do you get it? I got your number and I am not answering it. Your refuse to leave a message for me so I will never answer

New Information from FTC website:

CALL NEWTEK MERCHANT SOLUTIONS AND COMPLAIN: (414) 831-3900

Even the BBB entry for this company shows:
Payment Processing Company Named for Assisting, Facilitating Telemarketing Fraud
Date of Action: 6/18/2013

On 6/18/2013 the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed an amended complaint against the defendants behind the firm Treasure Your Success (TYS), which allegedly made deceptive ?cardholder services? robocalls, promising to lower consumers? credit card rates in exchange for an upfront fee as high as $1,593.93.

Among the additional defendants named in the amended complaint is a company called Newtek Merchant Solutions, and its former president Derek Depuydt.  According to the complaint, they approved TYS for a merchant account without performing customary reviews (such as obtaining telemarketing scripts, as required by their own procedures) and despite clear warning signs of fraud.  They continued to process credit card transactions for TYS, despite knowing that it had high charge-back rates, had fraud alerts on its credit reports, and was on MasterCard?s fraud monitoring program.

The complaints alleges Newtek processed $2.8 million in transactions for Treasure Your Success over a nine-month period until July 2012, despite inordinately high chargeback rates, the FTC claims.  The complaint also alleges Newtek also neglected to obtain telemarketing scripts before granting a merchant account to TYS, according to the FTC. Nonetheless, the complaint says, Newtek withheld as much as 20% of the telemarketers?s proceeds each month to fund a reserve account against chargeback losses.

The FTC
is requesting it be awarded preliminary injunctive relief, reimbursements of costs and permanent injunction to prevent future violations.

Constantly several times a day from this number on my cell phone.  Other numbers also - the same type of call - on both my cell and land line!  What can be done about it - if anything?  I thought about changing phone numbers but have had these numbers for a long, long, long time! I thought I was on the Do NOt Call lists for both cell and land but evidently doesn't block these.

There are blocklist apps (Calls Blacklist) you can download that will prevent your phone from ringing.  I think calls are sent straight to VM and from my experience, 9 out of 10 times they don't leave a VM.  Not perfect but you can add numbers straight from your call log with minimal effort - easier than setting up a fake contact.  Plus with visual VM you can just delete a VM without listening if one gets through.  Keeps record in a separate call log too so your regular call log doesn't get contaminated with the barrage of calls.  As far as I know, there is no max to the number of numbers you can block.  I don't think the numbers these companies use are endless - now that i have built up my list, seldom does a new number get through....  for now... at least until they find another way to irritate me...

You can't do it that way because they continually change the number.  I tried and I have over 100 numbers in my contacts to not answer.  Now, if I don't recognize the number I just hit "End" to end my call.  If it's someone that really needs to talk to me, they will leave a msg.

Calling me every day.  1-2 times a day.  The best solution I've found is to put them on my cell phone's "reject list".  It is not a smart phone, just a cheap "go" phone.  This way I don't have to hear it ring every day.   On my old phone I had to enter it in as "spam" and it still rang, but then I could recognize it as a call not to answer.  Once your number is on these scammer's lists, it just won't stop.  And each time they rotate to a new number, you have to start this process all over again.

Find "Ann's" home number and call repeatedly offering to sell her a paper clip.  I recommend calling from a cell phone with blocked number and do it around 3am.

3 calls in 3 days - callid says "United States" -- just another fine example of congressional members supporting wrong-headed ideas 'cause they ENJOY feeding at the "hog trough" (bought and paid for by the special interest groups in DC. I'm on the do not call list, but still keep getting these calls (dammit).

I don't answer, and then check the number online to confirm my "Account Services" suspicion.

However, I think I might follow Ted's suggestion the next time, or answer and when the live person comes on tell them that I have the FCC on the line, too. Of course, they just hang up when you tell them that you are on the do not call list so that's probably all they'll do, but it's worth it just to give them a brief moment of panic.

PS - there needs to be a "call type" option for "Phishing"; I don't think these calls are telemarketers, they are trying to obtain confidential information for identity theft.
