I keep getting a call from 940-228-7930 and when I look it up it gives me the name Steven Chong.
Not sure what it is?

Replied to a post where I have something for sale.  They wanted me to text them about it.  They wording was funny " you should text me at" 940-228-0758.

Got a text saying that my Credit Union debit card had a pending alert to call and follow instructions. When I called, it was an automated system that asked me for my credit card numbers. I didn't enter it in and instead hung up. If it was a pending alert, my bank would have called and notified me. Plus my card has worked fine since. If there was an urgent pending matter, my card would be on hold.....

got a text from this number on aug. 6th saying that "your credit union debit card has a pending alert. call now toll free: 1-940-228-3444 and follow instructions to resolve this alert." Called the number back and it was not in service.

got a message from this number.  total scam

Must be my lucky day - I got 2 of these text messages. No CU cards here either. Hope these putzes do some hard time.

we should put the FBI fraud department number in when we call.

I reported this scam to both my credit unions and blocked the number from my cell phone.

This message and call giving you "the last opportunity to lower your credit cards rates" are inundating the phones at home and cells. Is anything people can do to stop these people?  If it happens that the receiver is not very aware of this kind of scams, this crap people are going to ruin their life.  Be alert!!!

Thanks for putting this info out here....I do have a credit union debit card and had used it quite heavily before the text arrived.  I called the number and almost put my card number in but thought I should search the number first and found this.  Thanks again!!!

I received a msg from this number saying I had a credit card issue (an alert) and when I called, it asked me to enter my credit card number! Scam!

My husband and I both got the same message and when I looked it up I found this sight. I hope no one gets taken in by this scam.

Got the same message about 10 Min. ago.  Really sad that people are going to try and steal when its hard enough for us that do work for a living.

Do not respond to this messages, do not return calls to that number. Do not give out personal information. Do not try to text back!

I work for a cellphone company and this is a really typical fraud.

got the same text. but i got it three times in ten minutes! this is an obvious scam! i dont have a credit union account. they must be desperate to text me three times. hope no one falls for that crap

got a call about debit card alert, system states that there is no customer service available as the whole process is automated, yes it will take fake info you provide...  very strange.

Just got a text that said...

I did not call because I know it is a scam, so please don't call and give them any info!

YOU ALL SHOULD CONTACT YOUR LOCAL TV STATION ABOUT THIS SO THEY CAN ALERT THE PUBLIC. ALOT OF OLDER PEOPLE WILL FALL FOR THIS SCAM.

Phishing. Do not call or give any info. I called and punched in a bunch of random numbers, which the recording accepted as if they were real. Lmbo.

Definate scam, looks like they tried to pull this off with the SAME NUMBER in August, don't see how things like this don't get shut down immediately.  Received te same message on tmobile sms a few minutes ago.

just got a msg from this number put in a pre paid visa number i used to use said that the number was invalid i think it just takes the number and stores it in a database

I got a text from this number saying my account had been threatened despite the fact that I have no account originating in this area code.  The prompt tells you to enter your credit card number to verify your identity.  This is an obvious scam and someone needs to come down on these people.
