Same here as to wanting to serve my husband. Would not give what he was trying to serve. And that he just got this this morning? Weird. So I blocked this number.

What is this number

I got a call from the number 9402283447 (almost like the one called you) and some guy after asking for my husband and gave me some phone numbers, said "he is a MF!",  I called them back and the record says the same thing "department of investigations phone", you can not leave any message.

I Blocked this number on my phone , they are now trying with a 940-228-3448 number, they left a very very  threatening phone message....

It's a "Locator" from a debt collection company such as one that identifies itself as "Nationwide". They try to contact your relatives and employers first before they call you. They will say they are "Serving papers". You cannot get a physical address from them to mail them a written notice to desist from calling your employer.

They break so many sections of the FDCPA it is not even funny. Document everything, find a good consumer advocate lawyer and 'em back hard. If you can pin them down, that is.

Got a call from this # saying they wanted to serve my husband papers and gave a claim # and a 866 # for him to call to handle the matter...I called the number to see what the matter was and a women answered hello....has any one else gotten any thing like this?
