Fraternal order of police out of TX....charity

Just received a call from this number.  Asked if I was here by first name.  I said yes, an then it disconnected???????  What the heck?

I continue to get calls from the TX FOP and I want them to stop.  I am not interested in any type of donation to them.  These people who call are down right rude.  I will NEVER speak to another person connected with the TX FOP for how I was treated when I did not have time to speak with them.  I DEMAND they quit calling and harassing me.  I WANT OFF THEIR CALLING LIST PERMANENTLY.

They called my wife and asked her if she wanted to donate but she said no and they asked for the address she gave to themand they hung up

VERY annoying, time to knock that crap off.

They're calling to do fundraising for the Texas Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number back. It directed you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. There’s also information on texasfop.org. Plus, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.

It seems like the FOP is doing a lot of really great things for police officers and their families. These people that are calling are trying to help them raise money so they can keep up their good work.

This number called trying to fax something at 4AM - Charity or not that is crazy. I called them back just connected to a answering message - left my message to remove my name from their list. number did not have a prefix

Just got a call from this number tonight...has called many times per Id caller and does not leave message...want this to STOP IMMEDIATELY! Can't DONATE to anyone!!!  DO NOT CALL AGAIN!!!

3d call this week (and it's only Wednesday.)

It's a scam.  Rang 3 times and disconnected.

called asked for me by first name - when I asked who was calling they said
"sorry to take your time" and hung up.

If you receive a call from this number (or the Texas Fratenity of Police), it is not really the the FOP organization calling.  It is a for-profit company that gives 6% - 10% of all money collected to the FOP. The rest they keep as "operating expenses" (profit). One of their tactics is to act as if they are actual police officers when they ask for money.  They are not.  Only give money to this company if you think dontating money to a for-profit company pretending to be something they are not is a good idea.

I've had these people call before and told them I don't donote over the phone to ANYONE!  If I don't answer then there is a loud dial tone as the machine picks up and turns off.

Have been called several times and told them I would like information sent to me. We are a one income household and donating is something we decide as a family. When we received the information in the mail we decided not to. They persisted in calling several times a day and usually during mealtimes. I called the number back this evening to tell them to remove my number from their calling list. It was completely automated but I think it's done. We'll see.

like anyone has money to help anyone!

Called 12-8-2009 @ 18:15, left no message on recorder.  Have sent an e-mail to address listed above, we'll see what happens.  That's why I have a recorder.

YES, I BELIEVE IT IS A PROFIT COMPANY WHO ONLY GIVES VERY SMALL  PERCENTAGE (5-10%) TO TEXAS FERTERNAL ORDER OF POLICE.

PLAIN AND SIMPLE:  The FOP is a rip off telemarketer soliciting group of dirtbags who harass and bother good taxpaying folks at all hours of the day and into the evening hours.  The best thing to do is not answer or if you do......the nano-second they say they are for the Fraternal Order of Police.....the FOP.......HANG UP TIME!  Then ID their numbers.  They have many different numbers so you never know what area code they will be nagging you from.  Then set your phone to recognize that particular number and set the ring tone to "silent".  Later, delete the trash.

940-295-1889, 469-718-0642, & 281-763-7522--have received calls from TX Fraternal Order of Police at theses numbers.
THINGS TO REMEMBER:  They are a "Fraternity".  Their members pay dues.  Only their members & THEIR families receive benefits from their "Fraternity".  Not all PEACE OFFICERS are involved with this group.  They MAY be considered a non-profit organization because they help their own members.  Since this group may be  considered a non-profit, they can get around a LOT of telemarketing regulations.  
Have you ever seen or heard of this group except for the telemarketing calls? I have received calls EVERY year at this time for a number of years, and before that, it was junk mail.  Their numbers are now blocked on my CELL phone.

I have gotten calls that come up on caller ID as TX FOP from the following numbers:  940-295-1889, 469-718-0642, and 281-763-7522

940-295-1889 is calling to help the Texas Fraternal Order of Police with their fundraising efforts. I called the number back and was directed to their customer service department. They can answer your questions, help with donating, etc. You can also go to texasfop.org for more information or to contact them.    

The FOP are doing great things to help police officers and their families.

TX FOP calls from several numbers including 1-940-295-1889 or 1-469-718-0642. They usually just hang-up when I answer the phone. Occasionally they ask for the lady of the house or just say nothing, cough, yawn, or clear throat and hang-up. Receiving several calls per day and night.

I've received about 70 calls in November from this number. Today, I finally decided to answer. The guy asked if he could speak to the lady of the house. I fibbed and told him the number he is calling is a business line. "Oh, I didn't realize this was a business. I'll mark your number off our list." ....... we'll see if my fib works!

I just received a call from this number 940-295-1889, and it just  freaked me out! My son answers and tells me its for me, so when I get on the phone a man thanks me for my time and hangs up... Whats that about!!
