I received a call from this number.  They said they are from N. TX University and are conducting a medical survey.  They said it would take about 15 minutes.  I told them I did not have time, but did them permission to call me back during day hours.

FYI College INN is a dorm for UNT.   What is most likely happening is either some college student is doing the Telecommute call center job, or as usual this is not really a call from UNT College Inn, but someone has used this number in spoofing (where they can pretty much display any number they want other than the actual one they are calling from).   As my son is currently housed in the College INN at UNT, I can tell you, the dorm rooms don't even come with Phones.... 2 beds and one dresser...that's it.  So I would probably go with Spoofing at this point.

If you own a cordless phone you can block the calling number, using the block setting on your phone. Most cordless phone have this option.  I have a Uniden cordless phone, not a lot of entries to deal with. I Just go to my menu, then setting to use the block option. To get to my setting I have to go to my phone book settings, then menu select , and select create new, and enter the name and number of the caller and then scroll down to select ringer off. and enter. By selecting ringer off my phone will not ring when the blocked number calls.

We have had repeated calls yesterday and today from 940-369-9705. They do not leave any messages.

"UNT-College Inn" is the caller ID for the University of North Texas Survey Research Center (http://src.unt.edu/).

The UNT SRC is contracted by municipal and state governments and research institutes to conduct telephone, internet, and mail surveys and to compile data. These surveys are almost always for scientific or municipal service research and are never for donations or commercial purposes (the University of North Texas has a separate call center that handles things like that).

Because the UNT SRC is a non-profit institute, the national Do-Not-Call registry does not apply to its calls and thus reporting the numbers will be of no use. The UNT SRC typically operates from 1:00 to 9:00 PM during the week and during the afternoons on Saturdays, evenings on Sundays. The UNT SRC observes federal holidays, but continues operating during student breaks, so calls will continue during, say summer or spring break.

The most effective way to end calls from UNT SRC is to answer the phone, allow the interviewer to finish the introductory statement (which must be read according to state and federal law before a respondent can be considered to be informed enough to reject participation), then say that you do not wish to participate. Alternately, if you don't want to talk to them, you can just pick up the phone and put it down. The UNT SRC is required to only call you twice if you do this, while simply not answering the phone will guarantee that your number remains on their calling list for the duration of the survey, typically about three or four months.

We started getting them a week ago..strange to me, since I think UNT would be in finals or already out...never leave message and call inappropriate hours...

I keep getting these calls from this number 940-369-9706.  They never leave messages.  I never answer the calls either.  I tried to call this number back and don't get an answer.  The phone rings and rings.  Will report this number to Don Not Call Registry.

Yes there in Denton Tx and Ft Worth TX. Odd they cant be blocked. I get calls past 9 pm

I am getting the same calls. no one says a thing, But call nonstop. It is an on line collage. there rude and it is Spam from hackers on line that get your number from sites like Yahoo

These people are like all others as far as I see it, who can they cheat out of money and how much!

young male, identified himself as Kenny called a private cell # (unlisted and on do not call list) with some nonsense about a "survey about satisfaction about living in DFW"  Then asked if this is cell phone #...I hung up...

Does not sound like something from University of North Texas, but rather a phishing scam of some sort to access data or worse!!! I will be reporting to police and FCC!

This number continues to show up on my Caller ID, but when I try to call the number back, there is no answer.  I am really tired of getting this call!!!!!

We are tired of getting calls from this number.

I get these phone calls from this number 940-369-9727 about once a day for a week and then they're quiet for awhile and they start back up again.  Got my first one this week, just a few hours ago.  They never leave a message.  Caller ID shows it as UNT College Inn.

Called 11-17-2009 @ 15:52, answered call.  Conducting a survey regarding professional liability insurance.  Long survey with no personal information provided, but still wish I hadn't answered.

I have received several calls in the past week from UNT - College Inn 940-369-9706, 940-369-9726, 940-369-9724.  Each time it has been what sounds like a young woman stating that she is calling regarding a survey of people who care for young children.  It sounds like the same person keeps calling even though I told her I don't want to participate and to stop calling.

Every day for the last week I have been getting calls for 1-940-369-9726, caller ID says UNT-Collage Inn. I guess if it keeps on happening I'll just use my call block.

My phone number is registered on the Do Not Call web site but I received a call today, 14 September 2009 at 1:44 PM (central time) from 940-369-9727.  The caller ID read "UNT-COLLEGE INN."  I reported the violation on the Do Not Call web site.  At 8:15 PM I received a call from a similar number, ending in 8 instead of 7, also with the "UNT-COLLEGE INN" caller ID.  I reported that violation on the Do Not Call website as well.  I have discovered that this number actually belongs to the University of North Texas co-ed dorm in Denton TX.  I have no connection with this place and will continue to report calls from them as violations.
