You were under surveillance by a robocall machine. It calls your number at random times during the day to build a profile of when you are home and answer the phone. Once they have a "good number-at home between x:xx and y:yy" they sell this info to telemarketers or professional fundraisers. That is why you get no message nor does anyone respond when you answer. BTW-I have gotten similar calls. The outfit operates out of Denton,TX. I know this because they called me via my 800 number--so I had to pay for the call! But the good news is I now have sufficient evidence to submit to the FCC and whatever attorney would like to claim the award for damages ;-))
BTW2-If the FCC and FTC are as effective as the SEC was in dealing with Bernie Madoff LoL You will have better luck getting an attorney to go after the SOB's for damages since you DO have evidence that they tied up your business number. A good attorney could churn that into a nice award for damages to your business.

We don't generally answer if we don't recognize the number or location, but have a policy to return a call within 24 hours if a message is left, so will let it go to voice mail.  Just got our business phone bill and several numbers used all from Denton TX and they used our 800 line, so we had to actually pay for these calls. 940-381-1953; 940-898-9753; 940-565-6562; 940-566-1879

This number, and other 940 and 817 numbers, have called our business lines multiple times.  No fax (sounds like a fax tone),no way to look them up or ask them to stop calling. Companies affiliated with these numbers are: Affordaphone Inc., Max-Tel Communications, Inc.  Filing a Junk Fax 1088 Form with the FCC and filing a complaint with the FTC, recommend you do so as well.  The more people who report this, the louder we are, the faster authorities may to something about it.

Keep getting calls from this number, it is very annoying! I run a business and it interupts with my time...Please stop!

they just called at 9:10pm -- if they are collectors, which their constant calling and weidness makes me assume, calling that late is against the law
when I try to call back, I get a busy signal
