It was a fax machine.

I have an ongoing case with the FCC, who are investigating this phone fraud. I have also contacted the District Attorney in Denton County, who was very interested, but could not guarantee that they could do anything immediately.

I suggest that anyone who is victim to this harassment and fraud also contact the District Attorney in Denton County: 1 940 349-2600. The more people who call them, the more apt they will be to investigate. You should also call the DA in Wise County (just to the west of Denton where Bridgeport is located: 1 940-627-5257.

Go get them!

This number, and a string of other 940 and 817 numbers, has called our business 800 numbers multiple times.  No fax (though, sounds like a fax tone), no one on the phone, no way to look them up or ask them to stop calling.  Filing a Junk Fax 1088 Form with the FCC, recommend you do so as well, or you can fill out a Do Not Call Complaint with the FTC if you're not a business.  The more people who report this, the louder we are, the faster we get the FCC's attention, the more likely they do something about it.

You appear to have the wrong listing for this phone number. Actually there are a lot of numbers that will caller ID as Alternative Res, or SMTM Marketing or SMTMCO NET There are too many phone numbers to list. One of the websites owned by these people is www.rainmakermm.com. The phone number listed on the site does not work but there is an email that does. The Maxey Family and associate Craig Bolin are behind all of these nuisance calls originating from Dallas and Denton Texas.  You need to lodge complaints with the FCC - you can do this online. The people behind all of these phone numbers originating in Texas are The Maxey family and associate Craig Bolin. If you look on the internet you can see where they have applied for various telecommunications licenses (Mark Maxey, Mike Maxey). Here is all of the contact information I found for Craig Bolin and The Maxey Family. They have some kind of auto-diallers that check to see if 1-800 numbers are valid and whether fax numbers are valid. I believe they are taking these numbers and putting them on some kind of list they turn around and sell.
