Ok, they at 8:53pm this time they didn't get scared and hang up. The woman calling stated she was calling from "Matthews Survey". So I assume it is something political related but can't be sure. I can't even be sure she is in the 941 area code. Anyway, I stated, "I'm not going to be answering any survey and just to give you some advice, your organization would have a lot more credibility if a real number and and your firms name showed up on my caller id instead of "Unknown Caller", bye".

Just got two of these calls this evening (10/11/12) at 8:01pm and 8:23pm pacific time. I'm familiar with the 941 area code, its from Sarasota/Manatee County Florida. But I don't know how an organizaion can get away with having a 000-0000 number show up. Must use some sophisticated masking technology to hide their real number.
At 8:01pm, I recognized it as an autodialer call since there was no answer after I said hello several times. Then the person calling finally says hello and I reply, "But I've already said hello several times when I answered your call". He then hung up.
At 8:23pm I finally recognize the boiler room in the background and before allowing the caller to say hello, I started the conversation saying, "Yeah I'd like to know why my caller id shows 941-000-0000, where you are calling from and what is your business". Again, they hung up on me.
Mystery.
