If you ask a survey company to add your phone number to their internal do not call list, they must stop calling, otherwise they are also subject to fines.

I am on both the totally worthless national and Florida DNC lists. I bought a $60 Panasonic KX-TG6841B Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System with Handset from Adorama, which has blocking capacity of 250 numbers. I do not answer my phone unless I recognize the number or they leave a recognizable message and blocked over 100 numbers in just a few months - that's an average of two numbers every three days - and it is not even the political season yet. The system also blocks calls from phone number "1" which cannot be recorded on this site and has so far called me 6 times.
I have no horse in the race of trying to sell call blocking devices - other than to put these telemarketing a-holes out of business.
More proof that telemarketers are hypocritical pond scum...

I've been getting calls from this number on a daily basis since we hooked up our home phone. I answered the first two times and they wanted me to take a survey which I refused. They keep calling every day including weekends! I just don't pick up when I see the caller ID now, but that hasn't stopped them.

They are legitimate. For your time & effort filling out the survey online they send $10.00. It's quite a lengthy survey but what the heck. I'm 10 bucks ahead. Actually $11.00. Their mailed request in my name included a one dollar bill in the envelope.

These parasites call me at night about 2 times a week. The first thing they say is do not hang up we are not selling anything. Then wtf are they calling me for if there is no money involved???? I am on the do not call list, and they keep calling me.

Survey. How can this be legal if they aren't making money? Someone has to make donations or buy time as a volunteer; very shady and despicable to think this has gone on for over 5 years for some folks. I'm just irritated and fed up with these so-called companies!

I don't answer calls that don't have some kind of name.
FYI: Andy Rooney says when they call ask them to hold then go away from the phone. When you hear the busy signal hang up the phone. Enough of these they quit calling.
If their is no one on the line when you answer. Hit the # key 6 or seven times as fast as possible. It confuses the machine and takes you off the call list.
