I had 5K in property and he wanted me to pay $1,000 and asked why I didn't want to. I told him I wasn't planning on traveling anytime soon. Then I asked him, if I owe all this money, how come no one sent me a letter and this is the first I am hearing of it. His answer? We bill electronically. Um, ok. So he gives me the last four digits of one of my cards (which was incorrect because I have no active cards with that number). I didn't confirm anything. Then I asked him what email he used to try to contact me and he gives me my full name @ domain.com. As if I would ever use my real name for an email address.

My mom is getting harassed by these scammers as well. Same spiel about the $3000.00 in equity etc. They are very rude and implement bully tactics. For example they told my mom she is 'stupid' for not 'renewing', and that her account will expire in 24 hours --which magically morphed into about 800 hours and counting. Not sure how they got her name and number, but probably through some cruise tickets purchased online a couple of years ago. Not sure if it was Cheaptrips or not, but it probably was.  My mom has dementia, which they know about, and they keep calling her. I've called them personally to cease and desist, but they persist. Very annoying.

Coast to Coast Grand Getaways employs  inconsiderate telemarketers who refuse ALL requests to stop waking me up in the morning with their timeshare scam. Anyone would have to be a fool to buy anything from them. They are not accredited by the BBB and have had numerous complaints filed.

This company is completely fraudulent and I would strongly recommend people to avoid them. We purchased a 1 year contract as a promotion but never used it. I purposely did not renew the contract after 1 year. I then received a phone call from Elijah Smith (877-718-1400 ext 1009) at their company. He told me that I had to renew the contract or they would report me to credit agencies. I was at work and was forced to make an immediate decision. I renewed but upon review of my contract that night, I realized that Mr Smith was wrong. I called and he agreed to refund my money. He has agreed to do so 4 times but I have never received either my money or a cancellation number. He says I have to wait for their finance dept who also doesn't return my calls. Mr Smith then told me to return all of the travel vouchers they mailed to me in order to get a refund. I did that too (and have the receipt to prove it), but still no refund.
These people have had 26 similar complaints filed against them in the last 12 months (check bbb.com). Do not do business with them.

Got a call from these jerks again today. Twice now in the past three months. They keep trying to tell me I have $3,000 in equity that I'll lose if I dont' take advantage of it. Hahaha! Yeah right. I never signed up for anything like this, with their service or any other. It's clearly a scam, and I've told them so directly, but they keep insisting it's not. They can't even get my name/company right when they leave voicemails for me. Nice try, suckers!

We have also gotten calls from Coast to Coast Grand Getaways (CCGG). Years ago our vacation plan (that we never used due to busy schedules) was transferred over to CCGG. We did buy into it a couple of times for $199 and still didn't use and have "$6,000" in equity. Paul Ruiz has been ambitiously contacting us again and is very pushy and borderlines being rude. What I find a little interesting, is that Paul Ruiz's voice sounds like our former account manager's voice whose name was Jimmy McGarry. Has anyone else run into this? We are pretty leery of doing business with CCGG since we were scammed for, about $900, from another incident involving our RCI timeshare---seemed legit---did a little homework and still we lost out on a chunk of money. Live and learn.

I did try to work through a CCGG travel agent who did call me back (was very friendly) but wasn't able to help with a discounted price on a ski resort in the Upper Midwest.

Has anyone tried to sell their CCGG plan?

I just got a call from these individuals.  Someone named Brittany.  When I tried to call the number it went straight to someone else's mailbox.  I don't expect a call back, but if they do I'm going to ask them what's the rush.  LOLOL  Glad I found this before I talked to a real person.

My Mom just got another call from Adam McDonald of Cheap Trips.at phone number 877-718-1400. He said that my brother Oscar had a $3000 balance from 2003. Even gave us the account number. My Mom , being elderly wasn't sure what to say. My brother said that it was a scam. Since this SCAM has been going on for months and possibly years, the FBI or some other government agency should shut them down and track down the owners and put them in jail for 10 years and take any money connected to them to run the operation. If legislation is needed to make this lawful, then they should get a bill thru immediately instead of wasting tax payers money.

My call as from a toll free number but gave me this number to call her back 941-225-4956 ext 0045( Sarasota, FL), her name was Shanice and they now had control of my cheaptickets account and she was account manager and I have an equity of 3000.00 and if I don't pay them 199.99 for an 18 month membership my account will be purged and I will lose everything so I said purge it.  Of course she did not want to do that so I agreed to look at their site and call her back on Monday or her call me.  Said I had paid for an account with cheap tickets and had taken a trip in 2006, I checked my cheap tickets account and it shows no previous trips or even a cancelled trip. This is definitely a SCAM so please don't fall for it, I didn't. I do plan to call her back or wait for her call.

SCAM - rec'd third "and final notice" of 3K in equity - which I never remember using CheapTrips in the past anyway.   Everyone on this forum is correct.  Coast to Coast knows that out of 100 people, 20 will take the bait - likely the elderly.   How these people sleep at night is beyond me.  TOTAL SCUM - just about as bad a a debt collector....  RUN from these jerks.

The man that called me kept insisting that I bought into their club but now I had $3000 credit.  When I told him I wasn't interested, he got really insistent so I said I wasn't interested, thanked him and then  I hung up.  He called back and left a rude message on my answer machine calling me a bi***.

Good to see that researching this scam produced these great posts!  "Tom
Page" has left me numerous messages about over $3000 that I need to claim or the money goes back into the company (he's using Cheap Trips references, as well.)  He's now telling me all the dates he's tried to reach me, a guilt tactic.  Please don't fall for this.

Have to be anonymous because I don't want to be sued. I worked for these guys under another name. I was hired with the same line of crap they feed their clients. I thought I was pitching a good product just as the clients thought they were buying one. Sales is separated from fulfillment because nobody wants the salespeople to know that their customers are being fleeced. It is incredible to me that what they do is not a crime Some thief found a loophole in the law somewhere. This is a business that is operated by people with no ethical limitations. If they can sell your hide for a lampshade and get away with it, they most certainly will. I cannot state in stronger terms that you must avoid these people.

I had the exact same experience that everyone else had.  I listened to the spiel, waiting to hear how much this fabulous deal would cost me.  Only $199!  I told them that I didn't have room on my credit card right now and to call back in a couple of months.  Oh, but it's a limited time offer, don't think we can do that...but if I give them my credit card number now, they won't charge it for a couple of months.

I said, "You actually want me to give you my credit card number over the phone?  When we are constantly being warned to NEVER do that?"
"Blah, blah, encrypted, no one else will see it, blah, blah."
So I told him that I didn't feel comfortable doing that, but to email me or send me the information and I'd consider it.

Suddenly we were cut off and he called back but I didn't answer.

Same old story:  If it seems too good to be true, it is!

Just got their call, hope I did not make a mistake in giving my e mail address .  I told them not interested, but he persisted so I said send me info on e mail and I will check them out and maybe get back to them.  Got the e mail and used info found this site, glad I did but worried that they now have my e mail and could maybe hack into my Mac .

It's unnerving that they had so much information already, and I think you might be right that they get names from travel discounters or something.  I'm going to start asking when I book other trips if they resell the name list.
So, I agree...interesting, and creepy!

Did you actually give them credit card information?  Did they get your grandmother's money, too?  The guy who called me was "Jason Bennett" and if that's his real name, I'll eat my hat.  How can an attorney get these guys?  It seems like they're untouchable.  The phone company told me there's nothing they can do.

Good for you for hanging up, and I'm here to tell you that you're not an idiot but smart!  What angers me about calls like this is that some people are vulnerable and get ripped off.  I called and reported them to the phone company.  They can't do a darn thing, but at least I tried to do something.  Thanks for your posting!

It was scary to me, too, because the person had some of my information.  Also, I have no recollection of setting something up years ago, and he claimed that I had and the old company never honored the agreement.  My experience was very much like yours--the guy got really aggressive and kept interrupting me.  He called again today and said that I had requested that he call again.  I pulled up this website and just started reading to him from all of these posts.  Thank you for sharing your experience--it was helpful!

I think they're a scam, too, but I wonder about the need to use the tactics you describe.
I'd rather just say, "No thank you and goodbye."  If you feel good about how you handled it, that's your business.  You list a number organizations and/or people at the end of your e-mail who are just trying to get through this life like you are.  Have a heart and help restore civility in this country, please!
