I fell for the same things like Bill in TN. I also was having problems with my computer and the guy seemed knowledgeable so gave them access to my computer. However the next day I had just as many problems as before. I sent an email to PCSpeedy requesting my money back (15 day guarantee) today, A few hours later today, I received 4 phone calls within 4 minutes of each other (almost harrassing of sorts) from this number, I finally answered the phone. He said he was responding to my email and what did I need. I told him I wanted a refund that I was not satisfied with the work that was done. This gentleman with an Indian accent said they weren't through fixing my computer and they needed access again. He stated he was the account manager for this company. He was very insistent and finally I told him no way was he getting access to my computer. He continued to be insistent but I finally hung up the phone., Lesson learned for sure.

I fell for the same things, was aftraid of a scam but since I was having problems with computer and the guy did seem to know of my problem [had been getting an error message each time opening Iternet & IE; and the guy "showed" me all the errors and malfunctions] I had let my guard down, and became a sucker...the next day was having more problems that without the "help" and correcting/fixing my computer; but could not get in touch with any "tech" at the fix-problem people, and after numberous unsuccessful calls, I sent several/many emails and finally did get a reply - but unforgentently the tech could not do anything to correct the problem with out (again) accessing my computer for a couple of hours: no way jose.

Someone called and stated that I left a message to have my computer checked. He tried to get access to my computer. This man had a foreign accent. He also sounded like the man who called earlier from t/p# 661-748-0240..

I just got a call from the same Hindi sounding guy as well. He stated that he was from the department of student loans and was offering me a free laptop. He then proceeded to coach me on my answers for a phone call that I was supposed to receive in 10 minutes. He said that this phone call would be placed to me and that I would be asked if I was a current student which I am and so he told me that I was to tell them that no I was not a student. I told him that I would not lie in order to win a free laptop. He pleaded with me telling me that if I did not lie, I would not get this laptop. I stated again that " I would not lie nor manipulate any kind of system in order to get a free laptop". He hung up.

Got a call today from someone by the name of Angela who wanted access to my computer to get rid of so called malicious files on my computer. Apparently, her company works with Microsoft Windows (technical side) and this problem was quite prevalent in the area which I lived. She directed me to a website "teamviewer.com", which then had a popup box with an ID number and a password below that box. At that point, I got really suspicious and asked for her name and telephone number and their website address, which she gave as "onlinepcwizzard.com".
She gave a telephone number of 08082348670. When I google searched the number, it said that it was 'untrustworthy'.
Nothing more than LEECHES and SCAMMERS.

From Oklahoma...I feel for their scam and bought the program. He stated that I had a 30 refund guarantee. So I contacted them within 3 hours to cancel the program. He said I couldn't cancel, now he says I have a 30 COOLING OFF PERIOD. I managed to cancel my card before he got his money. Now he is calling every 2 minutes threatening me. Stated that I was too old to understand their program. He stated he had many lawyers to take care of me. Don't know what he can do but I refuse to give him any more access to my computer. I have tried to go in and stop all access. Another number they use is 631-007-0850.

VSG-I was also having computer problems when I received a call from "Microsoft" and was fool enough to buy a $179.00 "service" from PC Wizard and gave them full access to my computer for 2.5 hours "fixing" my computer problems. Still had an "error" problem-called for service again-now receiving notifications from Microsoft to shut down my computer at once-computer has been compromised. I was denied the "guaranteed 30 day refund"-got the cc company involved in a 3 way conversation-finally the only way I could get a refund was to give them access toy computer again to "remove" their software as it was expensive-right-I'm sure they would have loved to remove everything as Microsoft had shown me the spyware that was installed as well as their "software"-having my computer wiped clean by a professional.

This is clearly a scam or phishing scheme. The number they called on has been on the DNC list constantly since I got the phone. Sadly, the DNC list is pretty much useless. There is no real penalty for abusers of the list. The FCC needs to make the telephone companies that provide service to these people who are up to no good to provide a way to block them. The phone companies aren't going to do anything themselves because they are making money off these shady and underhanded "businesses".
I do NOT answer calls which are either blocked or numbers that I do not know.
Note: I appended here the caller's number since I do not know the name of the caller.

Yeah, I got this call too today. A woman, sounded Indian, said my computer was being maliciously attacked, I said what computer, and she said your computer. I said I have several computers, what are you talking about. She said go log on to your computer, and I will take you through the steps to correct this. I said I'm driving, call me back in a few hours. She called back, I didn't answer. I thought initially it was some sort of scam. Do they think we are stupid or what??

They tied to get me to login to a website and allow some idiot to acces my computer. Once u login in and hit some key options, they have access to your computer. They said, "we are a service support company for windows". This is all bull as Microsoft and nobody else calls to have u login, as ths is a major breach of security. The can scam act prevents emails of this type so now they are calling you. Funny they called me as I have been certified as a Microsoft engineer for 15years. Trust me, there is nothing wrong with my computer!

This is scam.

I just got my first call from this number saying they were from microsoft and that all windows operating systems were being infected with some malicious software via the internet that wasn't a virus. I wasn't responding much and he kept stopping to ask if I was still there and if I understood what he was saying. I told him it sounded like they were selling something and that I was going to hang up and he tried to convince me they weren't.
| Brandie 2012-04-03 21:29:58 Unknown |
Keep receiving calls from this number and generally there is nobody on the other line. Today when I answered, there was an Indian man on the other end asking for me by my first initial and my maiden name. I got irritated and asked him why I continuously get phone calls and what his call was regarding. He became upset telling me, "You act like I call your number every day..." I asked again what his call was regarding and he hung up on me.
| Lynn 2012-04-03 19:13:08 Unknown |
this number is a scam for PC Wizard. They will tell you he is from Microsoft Windows Tech Dept and that you have a major virus on your computer. DO NOT give these people any of your information period.
