I got a call from this number on my cell phone @ 9:15 am on Saturday January 24, 2009. I didn't answer it b/c i didn't recognize the number. If i had answered it, i probably would have been dinged for long-distance charges on my cell phone. It's actually funny that i do a google search on this phone number & results actually come up saying it's a dolt telemarketer from who-knows-where calling.

I got not only one but 3 call attempts from this number to my cell phone this morning as well.

This is funny, they called me an hour ago at 3:00pm on Saturday January 24th, 2009..  I just did a search for this number and came upon this thread with many other people saying they got calls from this number today.. Glad I didn't answer the phone ;).  By the way, I am in Canada.

I just recieved a call from this number and the recorded message said something about car warranty expiring. I thought it might be a call from GMAC as I lease a car from them and warranty IS expiring soon. I am in Burlington, ON and just got this Koodo phone - hardly anyone even has my number... When the lady came on she asked my name, and I gave her my first name, and then asked if she was calling from GMAC- she quickly said she would add my number to the "Do not call" list and hung up on me...

I also got a call from this number this morning around 10:45 am, but since I was called on my cell and didn't recognize the area code, didn't pick up. No message left either. The various boards I've seen have stated that they were calling about car warranties expiring, but like myself, we were based in Ontario.

If your car warranty was about to expire, I think your manufacturer would go to a whole lot more trouble to notify you - via mail - rather than call you from an unknown number, especially if there was a sale to be involved.

On Saturday I got called on my mobile, while I was out of town, so roaming!  A  I answered it but hung up after the message implied I had an expiring car warranty but couldn't identify my name or model of car.  Called rogers mobility and they removed the charge from my bill.

I had received a call from this number on Saturday, January 24. I didn't recognize the number and didn't answer. I too live in Ontario and if this is about the car warranty, I don't even own one. They called my cell too. And just now, I got a call from a different number - 818-870-9190. Neither one of the callers left a voice mail. I can't imagine how they got my phone number. It's my cell! I never enter my cell number on surveys, etc. Is there a possibility that my service provider sells my phone number and info to other companies???

All you have to do is call the number back and press one. They'll take you off the list. I just did it now.

I, too, am from Ontario, so this whole thing is bizarre, but I'm glad I did a number search.

In Canada here.  Got a call tonight on my cell. Didn't answer it.  Also got a call from 818-870-9190 last week.  I'm wondering if they got my number from some contests I've entered online.  Has anyone talked to him and heard the whole deal that they are offering?

Don't pick up these calls! They are just scams/telemarketers.
I heard that the Canadian National Do Not Call List and even some cell phone companies are selling our numbers! X_X

Called to let me know that my warranty was expiring on my car.  Of course when I asked them which car and when it expired they didn't know.  I had a bit of fun with them figured the longer I held them on my phone perhaps it was one less person they could bother. Was able to keep them on for a little over 10 minutes.  Gave them 0 information.  I don't own a car. I wish we could just stop these, but in the meantime the battle goes on.  I live in Canada.

1-702-520-9141 is alo a scam.  I get both these numbers calling me (Canada).

They called me at 9:30 on Feb 3rd. I was in History, and so when I checked my messages at lunch I hear "car warranty expire" and I was like "Okay. I'm fifteen, I don't have a car??" And my friends were like "it's a scam" so I thought I'd check up on it before I reported it or whatever.
If they call me again on my personal cell phone (not many people know the number) I'm definitely going to try what you all did to get them to stop!! And uh, I'm from Ontario also.

I got the same scam call. I live in Toronto, Ontario. I also received the same scam from a local number today - 416-907-4361.
Next time, if you get these calls and they're local, pick up and play into their game with fake information. Go as far as you can to see what they're looking for and who they represent. This is what I'll be doing next time they call locally.

This is how you get these pricks anytime you are called give the City Attorneys phone number and address as your own to the marketer and let them bombard the city attorney with their crap.

I have been getting these calls, so I filed a FCC complaint. and today I called digicom got the executive manager person and berated him demanding that they stop immediatly and he gave me a number to some company in oregon 1-866-22-1956 or 503-223-7747 and they miracusluy dont answer even though they should still be at work.

yes its telemarketers all the way and someone is selling our information to these companies in 3 days ive had phone calls from california texas vermont newyork virginia and south carolina its ridiculous and annoying and i suspect facebook because ive never left ontario never bought a car i live a pretty sheltered life and facebook and my phone provider are the only business' that have ever taken my number

This usually means that they have you on an automatic dialer calling at random pre-set times to try to establish when you're more likely to answer the phone, this info is then passed on to the sales dept so a "live" a**le can try to sell you some product or service.  Trying to get them to remove you from this list by answering or calling back, just assures them that someone IS at that number and can increase the frequency of calls from the same number as well as from other numbers. 999 times out of a 1000 if they don't leave a msg it's a telemarketer.

February 02 got a call from this number in Ontario.

ya these people keep calling me too!!!! but im lucky cause i got caller id. Just dont answer if u see a number thats not ur area code. i got some numbers too.

Called left no message, I answered but there was no body on the other end. I often wonder if by answering the call they can download a virus to your phone.  Don't know how to prevent phone viruses.

This is an ouright scam.   I did some hunting in Orange county through their telemarketing companies and none have the same phone provider or a similar excahnge listed.  Makes me believe that these guys are running a "boiler room" type oufit.   These yahoos will collect your info, steal your identity, not pay the poor kids working the phones and then disappear.

hey... uhm, I live in NORTHERN ONTARIO WAY away from this area code... why the HELL would they keep calling my cellphone? I get the call, and if I pick up (because I don't have call id) there is no sound... just static... no recording or anything... then they hang up... any thoughts?

i have been receiving calls on my cell phone (my provider is Rogers) from different numbers throughout california. This is one of them and other's include 559-427-4535,916-219-8163 and an 805 number. Also, a Las vegas number 702-520-9121. has called me as well. I am located within Ontario and so I found this odd. Like previously mentioned, they call and do not leave a voicemail which seems rather unprofessional.I called these numbers back and it just rings,there is no mention of a company name and eventually someone picks up saying "would you like to hear about your trip to cancun" i ask to have my name removed off the calling list and they hang up. I tried this 3X and all 3 times they hung up.... obviously a scam...but def annoying
