I got the call, I said that verizon is my company and I would call to Verizon to ask about because I have not done any telecom contract, she said, "Then stay with the above charges." They are very annoying
I can put a lock for this number?

I started getting called from 949-260-9943 about early March on my office phone. The company claimed to be "US Telecom Long Distance". Yay, just when I thought I was safe from telemarketeirs I have to deal with them bugging me at work. I always answer the phone "*company name* *department name* *my name*, How may I help you?". Every time they discover it's a business they hang up BUT THEY STILL KEEP CALLING. I've called them back three occasions, most recently today (04/08/08) and spoke to someone called "Brenda", operator #7437. She apparently is used to people complaining about their lousy sales staff. She alleges that it takes "24 hours" to be put on the "do no call list", but obviously that list isn't atteneded to very well hence the spambardment of sales calls post-listo-me-addo. My phone shows (7) of my last 100 calls are from this boiler room operation. Hmm...wonder how they'd like a few thousand sales calls directed at them? :)

Update: 04/10/2008
Got another call! (you should see the look of shock on my face :| ) (not!). As you can see from my previous post that it's been more than 24 hours since telling them to put me on their do not call list.
This time I didn't answer my business phone as normal. "This is __me__.....hello?", I said. The woman obviously didn't hear me when I indicated WHO I was and asked for "Linda *some _unintelligible_name_*". I said "no", and started in on how they keep calling me after I told them not to. She hung up on me. 8!7Ch. Any bets on whether they annoy me next week? If they do maybe I'll play along, put them on hold for 30 minutes to look for "Linda _something_something_"....Hey, I just might find her too before US Crap Telecom *really* puts me on their do not call list....

Answered the phone and other line started to breakup a little. When I was actually able to hear the caller, it was a male speaking a Spanish dialect. After I said who is calling he dropped the line.
| tina 2011-06-06 21:07:38 Unknown |
I said "Hello" a couple of times before they hung up on me. Nothing painful like most of you have gone through. =)

Betty from US Telcom called and asked if I was the decision maker on the phone. She said something about long distance and I said that I didn't have long distance on the phone and she immediately hung up.

If this is any help . . .
In a search tool text box, enter

It brings up a lot of complaints about this scammer.

I received a call from 949-260-9943 regarding the overcharge on my long distance on my telephone bill.
i told them I did not have that service and they hung the phone up very fast.
Just another scam working the phone lines.
These people need to be cut off. The exploit people
and the seniors are the worst for getting hit.

Call came to my residence Saturday 9/22/09 at 12:50 pm Hawaii time.
(Our number is on the Do Not Call list.)
Caller ID showed the caller as US Telecom Long.
I answered in an abrupt voice, knowing this would be some kind of telemarketing thing.
Female voice said only: "Hello?"
I said in an annoyed voice "Hellooooo?" back.
She hung up - hah!
| midas 2011-06-06 21:07:38 Unknown |

So it's 1.5 years later and I'm getting calls from these ass-tards again. Guess they don't care much about direct statements such as "leave me the **** alone!" or "don't ever call here again".

So after a 1.5 year break these morons started calling me _again_, and hanging up on me _again_ every time I answer my phone. Friggin annoying. I'd previously told them to leave me the h311 alone which they only did for a time. I MEANT, LEAVE ME ALONE FOR ETERNITY, or perhaps call me back WHEN H311 FREEZES OVER.

I don't have caller ID, but sounds like the same people who just called me.
They call and ask "is this:... (and say your phone no.) to get you to say "yes" then when you say "Yes" they repeat their co. name (which sounds very official) and in my case, this woman said "You've been identified as a low usage customer, so your bill will now go from "$8.95 to $2.95." At that point, I felt this was a scam and said, "Wait a minute, who are you again? I don't want to change anything......" and then she had already hung up.
I called my long distance co. to report a scam by this other co.. They said to call my LOCAL l service and get a freeze on my acct., which I did. She explained that a freeze is a protection against someone different from your own long distance co. from coming in and changing you over to another company. My local phone co. said there is no charge to put the freeze on and this will remain in place until I call back to "Un freeze" it. I don't know if this is how it works with all phone companies, but a good idea to check with your own local carrier for protection.
What the scammer is doing is getting you to answer in the affirmative by asking your phone number and getting you to say "Yes", that's my number. They give some song and dance about low usage, never asking a question, just something about low rates. The moment you say, Wait, or ask them to explain who they are, they hang up.
I rarely answer my phone, letting the answering machine screen for me, but I never will pick it up again until I hear the caller and it's a friend, family member or person I've called and not before I recognize their name or voice.
I was very pleased with my local phone co. for helping me. I will always let my answering machine screen all calls, as these scammers are getting worse all the time.

I received a call yesterday around 5 or 5:50PM. I had just gotten home from work. I was exhausted and still had several hours of housework and studying to do. I do not even remember the callers name, but I do know that it came from 702-894-9130. I do remember that the caller (male) stated that he was calling from U.S. Telecom, and noticed that my long distance bill was $8.95 and it could be reduced to $2.95. I asked him if he would repeat his complete message again. He did and I do not know if I said anything else to him, immediately the my phone was disconnected from his. I called the number back and the line was busy.
Is it possible that some of my personal information was stolen? Criminals should be mindful of the fact that the seed they plant will sprout.

Got my wake up call from US Telecom Long Distance early this morning. I was not very happy, said I had a long distance charge, said I didnot have longdistance, she hung up. Didnot feel right, looked up on web found this site, they have a new number 702 894 9130 too many blocks on old one?
| Chester 2011-06-06 21:07:38 Unknown |
Just had a discussion with these people about their so-called long distance service, then promptly called my service provider, who also is my local carrier and put a freeze on my account. This call was from 702-894-9130 as well. When I called it back, was directed to call 800-374-1795, which is also sales department. Called this number and politely informed them of my phone number and name, then asked to be placed on do not call list and hung up. Maybe will quit seeing their name and number on my caller ID.
