Folks,

This is how you get back at those scammers:

Call their toll-free number (1-866... or 1-888... or 1-800...) from a PUBLIC PHONE booth.

Why? Because everytime they take such a call, they have to pay at least $0.50 to the phone company of the public phone booth!

Please do the same, because this is what you get out of it: they pay you to hear your complaints! The more you call, the more they have to pay!

The number they gave me was 1-888-336-3169 - and I called this number today at least 20-30 times... That costs them at least $10 to $15 - and probably much more, because the $0.50 that these scammers have to pay for each call is the minimum amount. It can be as high as $0.75 per call.

I got a spam text from this number about some mortgage loan BS.  Didn't even give a business name or anything (which they're required to do), just said "May we please give you a call?" at the end.  I got a similar text from a different number yesterday, and reported both to the FCC as soon as I got them...

My number's on the do-not-call list, although I'm not sure if that applies to text messages, but it would be illegal either cause unsolicited text messages and emails to wireless devices are never allowed, plus they didn't include a business name (or any contact info at all, other than what I got from my caller ID) or any way to request that they not contact me again.

I got a call from the same people at another number (the first on the list below).

Did some searching based on the name-- Lowerpaymnt.net have been using all of the following numbers:
949-280-6389
714-271-7478
949-413-5591
949-293-9759
I'm going to cross post this in the hopeless hope that someone's investigating them, and making the connections will be helpful.  This smells like a scam to me.

Same garbage also.  Received 4 text messages today all from debthelp55.coms which obviously does not exist.  Different phone numbers on 3 occasions, but same message.  Am on "Do Not Call Registry" and have reported each incident.  Also reported to State Attorney General and suggest you do the same.  Usually get much quicker action from them

Same as above. Text message at 3:24pm.

My only thought is I texted a digital home for sale sign? I did this ~3 weeks ago.(The sign in the yard had a number to text, which responded to my phone with a text message with listing info.)

Same as above.  Text message to cel phone.  says from debthelp55.com.  received 4 text messages today alone.  cel phone is on do not call list.  also used call back numbers 949-300-6004 and 714-310-5801.  None of numbers can be called as operater comes on line and says cannot be connected.

I have filed a complaint with the Florida State Attorney General and suggest you do the same with your Attorney General.  If they "get to talk to someone", I would make book that their service requires up front fees.

I received text messages from both of the above numbers: loanmod-gov.org & DebtReliefUSA.net - totally unsolicited.  I called the 949 number through the internet and they told me that they do not advertise this way, and that their company had already placed a notification stating it was not them.  I will next call the do not call registry because that is pretty much the only place my cell number is listed.  I do NOT give it out.
