I got a phone call on my job & home phone from this number claiming they were from the legal affidavit office and that i owed them money and should report to the court house in my state.I was very upset.

Very same phone call from the same number on July 24th, 2008 at 4:17pm. I put a trace on the phone number. should have results tomorrow. (7/26/2008)

Ok, here is the latest. TOLLFREEFORWARDING.com is the company that is setting up these phone numbers for people in other countries. They are the ones we need to go after for now.  I have reported them to the better business bureau, you all should do the same. I am also filing a complaint against them in SF superior court. Details to be determined. I believe the causes of action will revolve around the lack of monitoring their customers , and promising these criminals that their info will not be revealed to the public. I hope that is some sort of crime.

Also, If you keep calling them they get angry, so keep calling them from different numbers and give them a hard time. I have been having fun with. Right now it is the only thing I can do. Tie up their lines, which should be disconnected very shortly. Also, close all you checking accounts and cancel all your credit cards. Start from scratch!

People, we can not rest until this scam is put to rest, and these people are behind bars. I have been doing some extensive research and found out that these people retain a phone number and then add an extension to that number that directs you to somewhere in Africa. It can be traced, but I have to prepare the subpoena to the phone company that set up the scam artist with this number. The only way to ge to the bottom of this is to file a class action against the phone company so that they have to reveal the location of the extension number. who is with me?

I have been receiving calls from this number claiming that they are some "legal affidavit office" and that I have to call them back. I have been just ignoring them since last July my personal information was stolen when someone broke into my car. They are quite persistent, they call every other day, but never leave a message. The only way I found out who it was was bc my husband took a message for me. I already had issues before from someone saying I had to have my retained attorney or myself call them or all they could do was wish me good luck. I received that call 3 times, once from a guy and then a girl called twice. All of them had really heavy middle eastern accents, and hard to understand.I am about ready to just change my phone number to get them to knock it off.

I received a call today from the same phone number.  I happened to hop online while I was on the phone and found the following website:

It seems that this fraud attempt is happening more often than not.

A guy named Justin Smith left a message on my answering machine stating to call back with my retained attorney the second I got this message. Stated it was a time sensitive issue. He said if I did not call the only thing he could do is wish me good luck. He did not leave any reference number to give or what the issue was concerning. Has anynoe else received this call? Does anyone know who it is?
