I posted a business for sale and received the following email:

"Please call me about this when you can talk.    Jake 949-371-6340"

Why would I call him if my phone number is on there?  Obviously some sort of scam.  If someone was seriously interested in the business, they would call the number listed in the ad.

Gotta love the scammers that have nothing better to do than sit on Craigslist all day and try to scam people.

This is why you should use a business broker to sell your business for you.  Let him deal with all of this crap.

Got the same e-mail today as well for a post selling my business in VA. Seems sketchy. Not gonna call. Thanks everyone.

I also posted a Restaurant for sale in Fort Worth, I had no answer from this Jake stranger, but I know now to be careful with him. Strange because my ad has my name and phone number for the business.

YEP, Same caller from two different Biz Op ads,  seems to keep busy,  I like to respond and waste as much of there time as I can. Let them think you are sucker and give him a littel bit of his own medicine.  Make a story up and get THEM EXCITED its a great way to exhaust there resources......... Best to all whom are trying to sell there business

I also put an ad on Craigs List & this morning I had a message from Jake.   Thank goodness I googled his telephone # & found this post!  Thank you all SO much for posting & helping each other protect ourselves from creeps like this!  His email said this:

I too received an email from this person in reference to my business for sale in VA.  Read through the listings below....seems a little fishy to me.  One person said his name is Jake Orosz, another said his name was Jake Ross.  Ran a check on him....he has two alias he uses, Jacob Emery Orosz and ake Drosz that were listed, but he also had relatives with the middle name of Ross. Makes him suspicous to me.  Beware is what I would say.

I posted an ad on craiglist and he responded twice from different emails, both with the same phone munber 949 371 6340.  Jake Zor and Jake Ross were the names given.  Jake Ross redsky228@gmail.com and Jake Zor <welove0228@gmail.com>.  I had a nice conversation with him about how he was moving into the area and wanted a restaurant, and all the experience he had.  What a waste of my time.  Either he is just really lonely or something more sinister is going on.

Jake Orosz sent me 3 e-mails asking him to call him about 3 ads. Seems suspicious since he emailed regarding 3 different unrelated things. Seems to troll Craigslist.

Yeah, Jake is a serious douche. ....what a loser, ...emailing business owners off CL to try and sign them up for some kind of bs scam-job! I just received the same bs email from him off of an ad I listed, and I really wish they would arrest these people trying to scam everyone.

This guy is not to be trusted.  He is a scammer.  He promises to help you but never produces.  I have been trying to find investors on craigslist and this guy keeps flagging my ads.  He must be of a sad state as he has nothing better to do than to harass people.  Very angry person.  Don't call this number or leave any personal info for him.

Jake probaley listed it himeself.  He is not to be trusted.  This guy has NOTHING better to do than to sit and play with people all day long.  Poor guy.

I replied to his email asking if he was selling a service or product. Never heard back from him so I believe he was selling something.

Aw...this sooooo disapointing..

and creepy....I almost gave out my dad's contact number to some psyco.

I called him. Actually seems legit to me. He has a pretty good program and i might sign up for him. Kinda weird that he asked me to call him but seems pretty good to me.

I specifically stated on my ad NO SPAM & I checked out this number & it brought me here. I too have an ad on Craigslist. If they cannot READ the ad where I stated NO SPAM...then why in the H*LL would I want to have them try to sell my business for me. Stupid.

I put a business up for sale on craigslist and got an email from Jake as well.  At first I thought it was just spam from Taiwan or something but I called him out of curiosity and I'm glad I did. It turns out he's from LA that has a pretty good program for helping you sell your business.  When I put my business up for sale on craigslist all I got were a bunch of lowballers and window shoppers.  Jake created an appetizing package to sell my business and listed it into a large network where "real" buyers look.

I actually called him and it seems someone accidentally used his number.

It must be something wrong about this man and this phone number.  He responded to every one of my ad in Craiglist.
