How to kill telemaketers with your iphone:

1. Dial the offending #, and hang up.  This puts the # in your 'recent calls' list on your phone.
2. Dial the # back.  If possible hit '0' or '1' for an operator
3. Now, hit 'Add Call' on your iphone.
4. Dial back the same number, when it answers, hit 'Merge Call' on your iphone.
5. repeat steps 1-5 as many times as you can.

Now sit back and don't say anything. You have basically created a 5-way conference call to the same call center.  Often you can get 5-6 telemarketers screaming at each other "this is an incoming line!"

Resist the temptation to speak or make any noise. (hard to do when you are laughing)

After about 10 minutes of repeating this they will start to figure out that 'someone is playing with the phones'.  This is when you pipe in angrily and state that 'You called me, im just returning all of your calls at the same time.  TELL YOUR SUPERVISOR I HAVE LOTS OF TIME AND WILL HOLD UP AS MANY OF YOUR EMPLOYEES AS I WANT unless you stop calling this #. "  Tell them to tell their manager that it is just not cost effective to call this # anymore.

Just got a voicemail today from 949-407-5868 on my home phone that is listed on the NDNCR:

"Hey, I was just calling you back to inform you that the mortgage rates have dropped dramaticallty.  You can now refinance a 30-yr fixed at 3 and 1/2 percent with a zero point cost.  Even if you have no equity, you can still qualify. Now is also a great time to purchase as companies are accepting credit scores as low as 580 with 3% down. Give me a call at 949 407 5868.  Again thats 949 407 5868. Talk to you soon."

I can only hope that the company is put out of business soon and is also prosecuted to the full extent of the law!

Got the call on my cell - which is on the DONOTCALL list. Recorded message indicating it was a CALL BACK to me. That was inaccurate and is probably their way of saying it is ok to call donotcall numbers.

I received a call from 310-660-7995 asking me to call 949-407-5868 regarding a mortgage refinance.  It's obviously a scam.  I reported them to the DNC.  It's absurd that that these scumballs are getting away with this.

Same DBag has been calling a bunch of our phones at work trying to sell mortgages.  Caller ID comes through as 714-551-9431.

Just got a call from these Bozos, myself. You have to ask yourself if any legitimate company would try to get your business by saying ""Hey I was just calling you back" when you never called them in the first place. The call begins with a deception. I'd rather trust my mortgage to a back alley crack dealer.

they called my cell phone from 714-551-9431. I called back on their 949-407-5868 number. The agent said they are a non profit - HCA Global Relief Service, and tried to pitch a loan to me, but assured me that I would be taken off their call list. I asked "if I wanted to" apply online, they said you can go on nac123.com and fill out an application online. That website does look like a mortgage company - North American Capital Inc, but it lists a different phone number 888-693-4449, and mentions nothing about being a non profit. Sure looks like a scam. The nac123 is located at 1851 East 1st Street - Suite 900, Santa Ana, California 92705, which happens to also be in 949 area code.

I got 2 calls on cell phone within 20 mins from 714-551-9431.  Same recorded message as others have reported.

I pressed #2 to be removed from their list.  What a joke that is.  I entered my # 714-5XX-XXX.  It repeats back 77114455.  Doubled each number entered.  That's a good way to keep anyone from requesting to be removed from their list.  GEEZ!!!!

I figured I see what pressing #1 to see what they had to say.  Recorded message...too busy to talk to you, blah, blah...leave your # and we'll call you back, blah, blah.  

Yeah sure right I'm going to leave my number.  Then they are justified in calling you back for sure.

I got my second call today. I called them up and asked them if they were aware that they were calling someone who is on the DNC list. He ignored my question and started to do his sales pitch. I interupted him & said, "Are you really trying to make a sale with me after Im informing you that you are breaking the law and I can sue you?"  He laughed and said, "Yes, of course Iam".

I am getting multiple calls at home and on my cell phone from 949-407-5868. I am sending a complaint to the FTC. I don't mind messages on my home but on my cell? That makes just pisses me off!

Received two calls and voicemails with the same message as the others.  Call came from 714.551.9431 and asked that I call back 949.407.5868.  I am also registered on the Do-Not-Call registry with a 714 area code.

First call was 2/18/13 at 12:17 PM PT
Second call was 4/10/13 at 12:14 PM PT

I also got the same call (several times) from the 714 number, which redirected to the 949 area code number. I called the 949 number back, and it gave me a recording for "HCA Global Relief Services" or some b.s.  Pressing '2' to be removed from their list just results in dead air.   I have reported to the CA attorney general and the Do Not Call list.

I also *really* like the suggestion of reverse-spamming them using the 'where's my cell phone' link above.

These a***oles think they are smarter than everyone else. That's why they leave a message like, " Hey I am calling you back and etc" . They don't even know who they are calling, otherwise why not say who they are calling to and state their own names. Some one should tell them "GO FISH YOURSELVES."

Called me 4 times really close together, called them back (they never left a single message) when they picked up they asked my name and then without any explanation put me on hold. The lady was very abrupt. I had no idea what I was even waiting for so I disconnected the call. .

Got a voicemail asking to call 949-407-5868. I think this is the second or third time I've gotten a voice mail with a similar pitch "Hey [cuts out b/c clearly this person doesn't know my name] just returning your call..mortgage/lower interest etc etc.." No I never called them and I am not even interested....

Pls someone make these annoying people stop calling my phone. I will be doing my part by reporting them.

Just got a voicemail from (714) 551-9431 on my work number which is listed on the do not call registry from this guy sounding like he is following up with me and making a pitch for a mortgage with lower interest rates.  It is obviously a robocall and he left this callback number, (949) 407-5868.  I really wish that somebody would do something about violators of the law like this.

Got a cell call from 714-551-9431 saying they were calling me back and telling me mortgage rates dropped as low as 3 1/2%, and telling me to call him back at (949) 407-5868.  I tried both numbers and was told they were not in service.

How dare they!  To be on the "DO NOT CALL LIST", and then have them "pretend" that if you do not want to be called to depress whatever number they have concocted to really make it "ligit".  Lock them up these "wannabe" scammers and losers!
I'm sure that they will be "OUT-Of-COMMISSION/BUSINESS" by the time tis posting is up!  They will pay the price for their "games.......can't wait for that time.........!!!!!!!

Good research, good suggestions. This obviously is a scam and needs to be reported, via USPS or otherwise (it takes no longer to fill out a "hard-copy," insert the form in an envelope, place a stamp on it and leave it in the outgoing mail than it does to file online).

I also phoned, spoke with an obviously young, experienced male but he was asked if they were a R.E. broker licensed in the state of California, he responded that they were a broker locator service (paraphrasing but that's all they do).

Thanks for the link to the D.A and I strongly suggest that others complete this form and send it in, ASAP. The less time this con scheme has to operate, the fewer consumers that will be victimized. I also suggest filing with the California DRE with form http://www.dre.ca.gov/files/pdf/forms/re519.pdf and the California Office of the Attorney General at http://oag.ca.gov/contact/consumer-complaint-against-business-or-company (this can be completed online).

The fact that they have been doing "business" long enough to create even a simple website, that they will not provide a physical address, there's no record of this "HCA Global Relief" with the State of California and the list goes on, is reason enough to file a complaint.

Received the same voice message as noted above by Sid on 2/6/13 at 3:15 p.m. to my mobile phone (949 area code) although my number is registered on the national do not call registry.
