They called me too. They said it was "Claire's" and this was my final notice. "Press 1 to speak to one of our customer service representatives".
I am current on my credit card, also.
Amanda 2011-06-06 21:07:40 Unknown
Same thing about reducing credit card rates! Totally seems like a scam! Hope no one falls for this crap! Be aware of possible IDENTITY THEFT! Do not give your private info out!

I keep receiving calls from 949.413.0107. Every time I call back the voice recording states "this person does not have a voice mail box set up yet". Who is this?!?!

I received a call on my cell phone. They would not identify themselves and when I asked who they were and how they got my number, these numb nuts hung up on me. Probably trying to commit fraud, so FTC and BBB California, you might want to look into these hucksters.
ninny 2011-06-06 21:07:40 Unknown
Just got the call.... I also just blocked the caller. did not recognize caller so did not answer. vw was the same as all others. lower interest rate. SCAM!
Josh Thompson 2011-06-06 21:07:40 Unknown
Got the same call, this has to be a scam - my first question was "What is the name of your company" and I heard a garbled response then she hung up.
SB 2011-06-06 21:07:40 Unknown
They have called me 3 times today everytime I press 1 and ask to have my number taken off the guy says I am breaking up and starts making noises and hangs up on me.
Chris 2011-06-06 21:07:40 Unknown
Left a vm saying this is my final notice, no more information. And since all my bills are current, seems like fraud to me
Jon 2011-06-06 21:07:40 Unknown
Got a call to lower my interest rates on all my credit cards. When I got through to a person, I told her I don't have any credit cards and she hung up on me. Seems just another attempt at fraud.

Received call on my cell. Offers in selling porn magazines, sex paraphernalia , gay & lesbian toys, & dating escort services. Might be a police set-up to get criminals who set up dates, etc.& rape teenagers. Don't know why they called a nursing home, though. Everyone here is well over 80 & Viagra is not covered by Medicare for the gents.

I received a call from (949) 413-0107 on my cell phone, which went to voice mail. The message left was obviously an automated operator waiting for someone to make a response--it was advising that "Interest rates is a stimulus to help the economy. In order to lower your credit card rates you need to respond immediately before eligibility expires. Consider this your final notice." Then it prompts you to hit "1" to speak to someone.
I believe I have had this call at my home phone a few time, also, as I recognized the message left. I know for sure that I NEVER provide my cell phone number to anyone who is not family or a friend--and even that is pretty limited! There is no way that I would have provided my cell phone number to a business as "OK" to call me. I have register both numbers at the "do not call" lists previously.

Got a call from these people on my cell (which is registered as do not call) yesterday around lunchtime. Heard the recorded pitch (which is illegal per donotcall.gov) & that it was about lowering my credit card interest rates. I don't have any credit cards, so I knew it was fake. Whatever, forget them. Then this morning, same call from the same number to my same number. According to the white pages reverse phone lookup, this is a cell number. Googled the number and found this site (along with many others). Have reported both calls. If they call back, I'll have fun with the jerk on the other end.

Actually, cell phones are covered by donotcall.gov. See below copied & pasted from the site's Q&A:
Can I register my cell phone on the National Do Not Call Registry?
Yes, you may place your personal cell phone number on the National Do Not Call Registry. The registry has accepted cell phone numbers since it opened for registrations in June 2003. There is no deadline to register a home or cell phone number on the Registry.
You may have received an email telling you that your cell phone is about to be assaulted by telemarketing calls as a result of a new cell phone number database; however, that is not the case. FCC regulations prohibit telemarketers from using automated dialers to call cell phone numbers. Automated dialers are standard in the industry, so most telemarketers don?t call consumers on their cell phones without their consent.

Got a call 3:31 mar 24 automated message stating this was my final notice for interest rate reduction. I have received calls like this 3 times all from different numbers. Total scam.
much2do 2011-03-25 14:29:37 Unknown
I thought it was illegal to use automated messaging systems to call cell phones; call list or no call list.
JR 2011-03-25 01:07:18 Unknown
Or, yeah, I guess it was "final notice"...
JR 2011-03-25 01:04:52 Unknown
Glad I decided to research this...missed the call this morning & all of the message on my voicemail got cut off except "this is your final warning". Had me worried even though I know that I am not late on any payments or anything right now. So, thanks everyone!

Today I got a recorded call from "Ann", at 949-413-0107, about reducing my credit card interest. This call was (supposedly) my "FInal Notice" and came in on my cell phone. Naturally, I didn't push #1 to talk to their rep., hung up instead.
Just submitted my complaint to www.DoNotCall.gov, where our landline and cell phone numbers are registered. If you haven't yet done so, you may want to register your number(s) so that you can file complaints. When they can trace these scammers from people's complaints, the companies are fined for violating the Do Not Call List. Exceptions are for calls from companies you may have dealt with, and charities or nonprofits.

Got a call from this number. I didn't answer. The voicemail recording picked up halfway through and the only part I heard was "This is your final notice...". Googled this number to be certain. Glad I did.
Glenn 2011-03-24 22:28:13 Unknown
Thanks everyone for posting on here!
I just got this number calling me, too. They didn't leave a message. I figured it was some sort of scam.

Got this call on my cell about 5 minutes ago. I don't even have a credit card. Must be a scam

Got this call earlier today on my cell (so I know it was Carnival Cruise lines that sold my number to them...yeah I'm putting them out there) and right as I hit the recall button I started investigating only to find trusty 800notes. Part of me hopes they call back since I haven't put a telemarketer through the ringer in years.

I plan on tracing them and them eliminating them. Nice and clean.
