That is just creepy! No professional organization would make such threats...I want to know who these guys are...

I got the same call! I told him that I would not lie in order to qualify for a free anything! He hung up on me.

I recieved a call from this number and no one answered.

When I called the number back, it said the number is not in service.....

It is a call center with folks with middle eastern accents saying that they are from the US Dept of Federal Funds and tell you that you have been selected to win a laptop, iPhone, etc. The first time they called me, they said I won a laptop and that they would connect me to a college finder and that I should say that I have no outstanding debt and that I want to go to school for business administration. When they connected me, I told them what the guy said and that i'm not interested. I got another call today and they guy said I was selected to win an iPhone. I told him i'm not interested and not to call me anymore and to take my name off of their list. He said no he wouldn't and if I didn't accept the deal then I will be getting calls everyday. He was so rude and I told him that we don't do things like that here in this country.

I got a call from 949-581-3106. We have been getting several solicitating calls and I wanted to answer it to tell them to remove my number. I answered the call and a man with a slight indian accent is on the end of the line. I told him that we are on the do not call list and he said NO your not over and over again. Then he proceded to call me a F****ng A***ole! It got worse...He then went on to say don't you remember f****ng me last night because I remember your va**na!!! I asked for his name and he would not give it to me or let me speak to his manager so I hung up and started to search number. This is what I have found.

Just got the call from the us dept of education for a free laptop too. This would be the 3 prize I've won the last 2 days... I just say I'm not interested

these number is from internet like magic jack or other local software made by the crooker, they have some kind of website from where they generate a phone numbers by country or cities with user id or password , they make call to peoples to scare them about ssn#  and other information to make money from them and after making those call they log out their id's until next time.
and these call is actually from other countries out bond night call centers like India , Bangladesh, Pakistan and others, out bond call centers , they actually sell online product what u see on internet and order by credit card with your information at the time you get your product at your home but they save your info, acc# or routing number for scam. if they don't have your routing (just an info of you ) they sell your info to other local companies or illegal companies who do their best to get your ssn#  and then they make calls to you,  get argue and shout that you have made a scam or took a loan on this date and you have to pay $$$ by this date , if you didn't pay we gonna sue you, be ready hire your attorney this and that .. and they need money by western union or money gram or they ask for your routing# and acc#

how i know these information. my husband has been victim of this scam . He bought some stuff for home and after couple of months. some company took $500 from his acc# then $200 then $200 .he start getting calls by different numbers they said you took loan from us before 3 month you did not pay. it was $1500 so now you pay $2500 by western union, or we gonna sue you.My husband asked about their office they said we are in Brooklyn my husband told them i wanna come and wanna see the document about loan and pay they we are not allowed to disclose o recovery department, it made me anxious & i concerned with my friend in NYPD she told me this is not possible they either send letters to my house .  she verified that and said no status but make a complain about your social security theft .

They get our numbers whenever we answer questionairs on line to get free stuff. That's when these calls started. I call back and the number is disconnected.

i received a phone call from this number who claimed to be from the Dept of US Education claiming I have been chosen to receive a free laptop through them if i could talk with some school representative to claim  my computer. Now I call the number back because they haven't called back and it says number is disconnected.

I keep getting these calls too, asking for someone named Min Lee, who is not me... when I tell them that they hang up. I finally got someone who when I asked told me they were from the Dept of US Education, and when I tried to explain to them to stop calling me, they hung up.

why is the call getting through if it is disconnected

me too, when i called back, it rang for 2 minutes, then finally said "were sorry, you have reached a number that has been discon or no longer in service.... No message left.
They have called three times today already.
