I have received a similar text with the first line being  ?Do you owe $10,?? from three other numbers.  The first two times I opened them by mistake since my phone only tells me "New Txt Msg" and won't get rid of the announcement until I either push the open button or later button.  If I open the clam shell, it automatically opens the text and I'm charged for it.  Previously all my texts were just free ones from Verizon.  I'm now trying to see how to set up a nickname or password to prevent computer spammers from sending their spams to my phone.  That's suppose to take care of these spam texts.  We'll see.

I got a text from that number saying "Is your credit card debt $10,000 or more? We are offering a NO-FEE "get out of debt" service. First 50 to text back "DEBT" get a $500 Debt Relief Plan FREE!"
I just signed up for Bank of America mobile banking, and thought maybe it was an offer from them. I don't think I'll be texting back now.

I got another junk text message from Global Crossing this morning at 7:33 ET.  Same message: "Earn 30K in 60 d . . ." in the first line that's visible in my inbox.  

My son explained that it's probably coming as a bulk spam from a computer. He then found that we can log into Verizon and set up a nickname to block spam emails.  This way, I can still receive direct texts if needed.
