Got a text from this number grocery shopping. Is there any way to block numbers like this on a cell phone?

We just checked our phone bill to see if I was being charged for texts that were not opened. My unopened texts were not charged to our account so far.

Got the same earn 30K message.
Just F.Y.I.. Even if you have texts blocked from your phone Verizon wireless still bills them to your phone regardless of not being received. Don't know which is worse the people sending such messages or the phone company for charging 40 cents for such a message which was my experience!? Been paying for a full data plan to boot!

Further update from a different site says that this is from Global Crossing Local Service, Inc. - CA. That would mean the text was sent at 4:53 AM Pacific Time since I'm in the Eastern time zone. Bulk text messaging now?
