They are trying to hide their boiler room operation. Most probably this number was leased to a Telemarketing call center that turned into a Fraud center.

I just called back the 949 851 1482 number and got the recorded message that the number is no longer in service. Obviously they are trying to hide something. The police should look into this operation. It seems that there is danger here. They obviously are trying to get into our homes. What do they really want?

I got a call from this number with the caller claiming to be calling me back then offering construction/handy services inside or outside my home. I expressed NO INTEREST in the immediate or long term future and the caller claimed he would send me a brochure. Voice was very gravelly and hard to make out. Suspicious sounding. They had my last name.

I also had a call from these guys. It was on my work phone, which is new and which I registered on do-not-call. But all of these telemarketers are crafty. I did not pick-up but looked up the number here.

I received a recored telemarketing call on my phone that is listed on the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY from this number: 949-851-1482. Saying it was Diane, and something about having my carpets cleaned. I hung up and then redialed... and I got a recording stating that I reached a disconnected number. This sleazy operation must be patching into a disconnected number to place outgoing calls.
