Automated message to update our information for our Google listing or some such nonsense. This number will be blocked so they cannot bother our office again.

have no idea who they are or what they're selling since I never answer calls from callers I do not recognize nor return them if they do not leave a message or if they are pestering me about something for which I never inquired

I did not accept the call from 949-859-2758 when it came to my cell phone today at 1.18pm Pacific time today. a message was left saying exactly what agambina wrote above. I deleted the voice message. I have learned it is better to just ignore the telemarketers and eventually they give up and move on to other numbers. Another good reason not to answer a call from a number you don't recognize. Stay well, everyone!

These guys have changed their intro now to be "urgent" they speak to the business owner. The Google listing has errors and they must speak to the person in charge immediately. When I press 1 and wait for a person, an agent comes on. I ask what their affiliation with Google is specifically and the guys says they are a subcontractor for Google and paid by Google to "fix" errors. When I ask him to give me the name of the company he represents, he hangs up on me.

I just received a robo-call call from this company and the message was that there are two major issues with my Google places listing, and to press 1 to verify my current information. I did so and was connected to someone who claimed he had no idea why I was calling him. I asked where he worked, and he said "performance." I asked performance for who, and he said something about "a Google-certified company."
When I asked what that meant, exactly, he got extremely annoyed and asked if there was something he could do for me. When I said I got a robo-call explaining there were major issues with my Google Places listing, he yelled over me that it was a wrong number and he hung up. Total jerk.

Henry, thanks for FCC link, I completed it and hope everyone else does too, I'm sick and tired of these jerks getting away with trying to scam people.

They called twice and hung up. I am so sick of receiving this Google listing updates from all kinds of different numbers.
Lori 2013-04-17 21:39:51 Unknown
Same exact thing happened to us. We rec'd a weird v/m something about our google listing. I called the number back and got the exact same reply.
Henry 2013-04-17 17:49:31 Unknown
We got same call today. I called right back and, like mentioned before, they claimed that they were an engineering company and that they didn't want any commercial calls (i.e., the person answering the phone accused me of being a telemarketer). I waited a few more minutes and called, blocking my number with *67 and just asked to be put on their do not call list.
I suggest everyone who gets calls from this number file a complaint with the FCC. I just did. Not sure what it'll do, but the more of us who do the better. Here is the FCC link: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints

Phishing for co. info. on my small business line. Very suspicious.
Rocket Monkey 2013-04-16 18:01:02 Unknown
Yep, had same thing, dead space for a second then you get connected. Dude goes right into asking questions about my Google Place Page and how it not set up correctly. I know this already but let the dude chat. I interrupt and ask who is this, what company? He names drops Google associate or something like that.
After a few I get the feeling he just trying to sell me service, and ask what are ya selling. Dude gets annoyed after that and conversations ends.

got a recorded message about my company's google map listings and 2 other important issues...I hung up after 10 sec

Same here. Number just called. Did not say anything. Caller ID said Vitelity, Inc.
SomeOneSomewhere 2013-03-20 16:26:33 Telemarketer
Vitelity, LLC - Call makes it sound very important to make sure 2013 Google Map listings are up to date. As we have been working with Google Map problems for the past several months trying to resolve location issues, I selected Option 1 - which recording indicates will help you work through any problems with maps issues. After pressing Option 1 -- phone sounds 'dead' for a few seconds - then disconnects the call. Too late, I did a little 'searching' for Vitelity, LLC (and variations of the telephone number beginning with 949-859-****) and have found it is apparently a bogus operation having to do with something called VoIP. Not sure what it is all about but it doesn't have anything to do with Google Maps!
