They just called me. They said they were with US bank but I didnt really trust the guy I was talking to. So I hung up.

Just talked to my bank....THEY ARE NOT U.S. BANK NOR ARE THEY EVEN OUTSOURCED BY U.S. BANKE SCAM ALERT.....I got a call that woke me up this morning at 8:00, they said it was regarding my visa but I know my payments are up to date. I called back the number after contacting my bank to be put on a do not call list, the lady said "we are u.s. bank" I then told her no, you are elan financial, she paused for a long time and then proceeded to try to get my info, and added they do not have a do not call list, but if there is no do not call list why would they need my info??? If your silly enough to buy this crap, good luck to you, but I can assure you giving them any information is risky, and could prove problematic for you in the future. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO TO SOMEONE WHO CALLS YOU UNLESS YOU ARE 100 PERCENT SURE IT IS IN FACT YOUR BANK...

Keep calling and asking for my daughter - who is now married and lives out of state.  Wanted her phone# and I told them no.  They said they would continue calling this number.  So, when they call, I hit the talk button and lay the phone down and walk away.  I spoke with my daughter who says she only has a checking account with US Bank, so therefore, no one should be calling her at all.

These people keep calling for someone who dosent have my number and they say they are from the US Bank. It is pissing me off!!!!!!!!

Man asked for my daughter by name, said it was a private business matter and so could not tell me what it concerned.  Wanted her to call the 866-952-6297 number which has also been reported here. Caller ID says "California".

I told him she would call her local branch and would NOT be calling the 866 number.  Instead of attempting to convince me otherwise, he just hung up.

Yea, so this number just called me also and was really rude and asking for my credit card # and my social security number, saying they were from US bank, and wanting me to pay my bill over the phone. Definitely a scam.

SCAM! I have been called by this number 8 times in the past 2 weeks. Every time they call they say they are with Elan Financial. They always have asked for myself and want me to pay a credit card bill over the phone. I have told them I already sent in my payment(with a check) and they insist I stop the check because their payment is quicker at processing. I have talked to a male and a female, but when I tell them I am not giving out any information over the phone they get very upset and hang up on me. There is a always background noise and at times very hard to hear what they are saying because it sounds like they are calling from a train station or a subway. I have called back the number and I get the call can not be completed as dialed.

I have a credit card and it is through a small bank in Wisconsin, Not California.

This number left a message saying they are from us bank. I do have us bank accounts but there is no reason for them to be calling, and no one says anything when I answer the call. If they ask for persona info DO NOT GIVE IT, contact us bank yourself.

Not a scam, it is Elan Financial, a company through which I have a visa card. I am late on my payments. The call didn't go through when I answered, but now that I read this I know who it was. Dang.

It has been on my caller id but I don't answer the phone from callers I do not know.

I have U.S. Bank accounts... but if it's them why when I call the number back does it say "This is not a recognized number"?. They have been leaving messages but the recrding does not identify the caller just a loop sayng "Thank you for your business our hours are...."

This is definitely a scam.  They have called me several times, first saying that they want to offer me special deals with my credit card and then telling me it is in collections (which isn't true).  I called US Bank directly and they said if anyone ever call asking for information, it is not them, so do give it to them.  US Bank will never call you and ask for info!

I received a call from them too and when I answered they hung up. Then when I tried to call the number back it said the number was not recongnized. weird.

Potential scam asking for my VISA #..... I haven't had a visa card in 6 years! WTF. I cant call back the phone number and they said their name was ELAN FINACIAL when i talked to them it sounds very suspect.

This is definitely US Bank. I have bills from them and they call me frequently. LOL. :D

No, they are NOT from US Bank, no matter what they or their caller I.D. says (caller I.D.'s can be spoofed). They've been trying to call and scam my elderly Mother, but I've been interceding. If they were actually from US Bank they would not be asking her for her account number. I suggest that that anyone who doubts this either:

1)Tell the caller that you will take care of any issues with your local branch directly, but not over the phone.

or

2)Request a reference number for reason they're calling. Tell the caller that you will phone the banks published number (800 US BANKS) and discuss it with the CSR that answers.

The standard in my home is that no personal information is given to anyone we don't know over the phone unless we initiate the call ourselves.

I'm in MN. The number calls me 3 times every day. When I pick up, there is no answering, how can I stop them calling. I called back but the call could not be completed as dialed.

The first day I got my cell phone, this number called several times, mentioned US Bank or just left recordings that were partially cut off.  If it keeps up I'll try to block the number

This number keeps calling my house. This man is asking for me. I live in northern california and I don't know anybody down south
