Automated call.  Said it was from SW credit union and my debit card was frozen.  At 6 in the morning. Reverse call to the number said leave a message for Scott.  Look up on the number on google gave me a craigslist for customer service positions.  Obvious problems with the whole thing.  Don't follow the prompts except to hang up.

Just got this call today, automated unit calling themselves Southwest Credit.  Alerted me my debit card was locked for security reasons, and to press one to connect to their security line.  I hung up, went to the bank I got my card from, asked if my card was okay.  My card was in fact okay, but the bank took down the number, hopefully to give a warning to everybody else.

Scam.  I hope nobody falls for it.

Got the call from this number on Sat., Sept.4th. Just one of many different numbers that we did not recognize on caller ID...until the laws change and these scammers can be stopped, I suggest you don't answer the phone and don't return any calls, hang up!
We have all our phones on an answering service, yes it is a little inconvienent.
We have even told our friends...if your number comes up on caller ID but you don't leave a message we won't call back. It's a shame that we have to be so cautious.
We have a direct line for our bank which includes any credit/debit cards...so get to know yours and if in doubt call your institution on the number you already know is valid.
I will tell you my bank has never called and asked me to give out account info...never.

Thanks for the web info on this scam.  I had no idea who it was calling so I look them up here.  What would we do without this help.

This number called us VERY late at night.  I didn't answer, but there was a short voicemail from an automated voice said something about transfering me to the security department.  Based on others' experience, this is clearly a scam.  How many more days will this go on?

Same thing with me. Except I put in 16 random numbers and a random expiration date and a random pin number. Then it said I was all set. Haha the call came from "Pioneer Valley Credit Union"

Got the call today too, did not answer and did not reply, figured if it was important they would leave a message like anyone who actually had important information to tell me would. This is a good website, glad to have found it. My boyfriend got a scam call same day from Kentucky... Wierd.

Scam Alert-called stating that debit card had been deactivated and that security dept needed to be contacted. Don't ever give any information about bank accounts over the phone. Banks don't ask for this information-ever.
