Yes, I am on caljobs also, a lady called me today with a different number 818 390-1945 and it was suspicious because she wanted to know my name first and then went on to say she got my number on line and if I was interested in job posting they may have. I said no, it sounded shammy scam - ish. So now I will repot it also. Oh this lady had a very heavy ascent.

I got a call today from 818-390-1945 from Ingrid from GFG with a job offer. She said they got my resume online (didn't say where) and I was instructed to call the manager, Stefan for details. Sounded fishy, so I Google "GFG job scam" and found this page. Glad I did. I won't be falling for this scam.

These people get your info from resumes you have posted. Probably from CalJobs. I am accountant. I have received at least 10 different responses saying they have seen my resume & they liked what they saw. All of them were from insurance companies, whose motive is to get you to enroll in classes, so you can sell insurance for them. TFG is TransAmerica Financial Group.

I really appreciate your posting.  I just recently lost my job and posted my resume on CalJob as well.  Today, I got a phone call from a lady named Tami Taylor from (818) 253-1255 and said that she is a manager from TFG Financials.  She said that she found my resume on-line and that she wants to tell me what they do and see if she and I can work together and to call her back.

I googled the company like some people on this post and found that TFG Financials is in Shreveport, LA.  Then I found this post.  I am glad that I read it.  Looks like they are still doing this scam.  I am going to contact the actual company at Shrevenport, LA to let them know that their name is being used by a bunch of scam artists here in southern CA.

After reading this, I am not going to call them back.  I hope the reall company of TFG Financials does something about it as their company's name is being ruined.

Debt Collector
These guys are still at it as of March 6, 2013. I received the same call as all of you did. I went so far as to set-up an appointment, which I have no intention of attending. ;-}

Current info I received was from EJ Cooper of TFG Financial Services located at 1250 Corona Pointe Court, Ste. #302,  Corona, CA.  The phone number he called with was (562)888-2148.

It was obviously too good to be true upon further discussion with him.  I knew for sure when he didn't seem to know what a CPA is, or that it is an accounting related career.  Also, every time I asked him a question, it was always the best possible answer.  He even changed the requirements of the position if it created obstacles for me.  I would not be at all surprised if it is a debt collector. And I too recently posted my resume on CalJobs.   Wow!!  Unbelieveable!!

My resume is also online with EDD's CalJobs.  I got the same message from a Roland Gustavsson at (818)207-2169 for a position at TFG Financial.  I googled them and saw that they were based in Shreveport, Louisiana.  I also get calls from  (951)547-3199 out of Corona.  They leave messages using only my first and middle names.  I suspect that they are definitely bill collectors.  Generally I do not answere calls if I don't recognize the number.

Reincieved a voicemail from Diana @ GFG Financial. She said that she was calling on behalf of her manager. she said that they had my resume and wanted to touch base with me. She said to return her call to 951-223-4040. Thought it was odd that she called at 12:15 as most perspective employers do not call during the lunch hour. Tried to search the internet for their website-these posts are all that came up for them. Did not call back. Do have my resume on Caljobs (as required by EDD) and CareerBuilder. Dont understand one thing- if they are a bill collector or scam artists trying to get our info then why dont they answer the phone or call people back-so they could get info? All they are getting if we answer or call back is the verification of our name and phone number. Doesnt make sense.

Debt Collector
I've been receiving these same calls that everyone is talking about. I too, believe this is an attempt to collect a debt by a debt collection agency. They are definitley mis-representing themselves. Isn't there a law against this kind of tactic?

Got the call yesterday as I was walking into my part time job. I didn't catch the woman's name who called due to bad reception on her end (which I thought was suspicious), and asked me to call Robert at the 951.223.4040 number. Did a reverse number look-up and they are located in Hemet, CA. I knew they had to have gotten my info from a resume either on CareerBuilder or through EDD, so I resolved to call them back today. Got the same message everyone else has, and I left a message. No call back yet.
Now that I've read all the complaints, I'm wondering if this is an attempt by EDD to check up on all of us who have resumes on their site. A collection agency would be very persistent and call everyday (I know from experience) and would not hesitate to call you back if you left a message, and so this is my take on what's going on. Maybe we should file a complaint on EDD...

To all above:  Same thing here.  I called the EDD today and explained and all I got was to send an email to the EDD under the complaint section, but that I had to put in the CalJobs number.  Explained there is no CalJobs number, that it was a scam. I have a direct contact with this EED guy who works out of the VA Hospital and he said that any employer has to go through several steps through Sacramento to get a log in to view resumes. All he said is just go to the EDD website, not CalJobs, and email a complaint explaining the situation and to give the phone number, name, etc of the person who called and also to give this website so they can research.

Have any of you put your resume on CareerBuilder.  That is the only other place I thought they might have gotten my information.

Told the EDD this is wrong and probably illegal to pose as a prospective employer and search resumes to get private info.  They don't care, just said to e-mail a complaint.  Told him this is not right, that you REQUIRE us to post our resume and now getting phone calls from fraudulent companies who are getting the information for debt collecton or whatever.

Maybe if everybody sends in an email complaint they might do something, but I doubt it since nobody at the EDD seems to know what they are doing.

I also got a call yesterday from this number 951-223-4040 the lady on the other end said her name was Diana. She asked if I had found another position yet. I have my resume on caljobs. I said I was still looking for work and she said I should call this number back between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and I asked her who I should ask for when calling in for the phone interview, she told me to ask for Robert. I called this number and the name on the message say's Inland Empire Financial Services. She told me she was calling from TFG or TSG, she wasn't very clear. No one answered and it prompted me for a voicemessage. I left a really slow, halting, message because I knew something wasn't quite right. So I punched in this number on the internet and found these posts very similar to what happened to me. That's pretty messed up to give a person hope of a job like that. I had a hard time sleeping last night because I was nervous about the interview and what sort of questions they would ask. I wouldn't give them credit for being sneaky or clever, but rather dishonest and mean spirited. The joke is on them though because I spent alot of money on a new phone set, when I had money, and this phone lets me block calls. So just let them try to call me back. As for Caljobs I'm making my resume unavailable to see by employers. I haven't gotten any calls anyway for a job in the 5 months that I have had my resume on there, so why bother. Why do people have to be so evil? I don't understand.

I also received a call from Diana FG Financial 951-233-4040 wanted to know if I was still seeking employment because my resume was retrieved online and the manger wanted to interview me. I asked what was the nature of their business and she said retirement planning. I asked was there sales involved and if you have to purchase a license and she said yes, I said I was not interested in selling insurance it is hard enough trying to find honest employment. I too have a resume on caljobs.ca.gov/EDD and I think it is unfair to retrieve our personal information that does not pertain to this company

same story here.Extremely impolite lady not telling whom she represents, unclearly telling something about the change of my resume. That is what really make me wonder. She demanded to call her back, providing no clue who she is and what she was doing. A call back gets you an automated message about some gfg  inland empire financial services. Nobody answers. BTW some lady Vanessa worked as an MA in the doctor's office . My husband can not get rid of the bill for the services that this lady made up. Wonder if this is the same Vanessa as the lady is no more working there.

Unknown woman, presenting hereself as Diane  calls me by name on the telephone and tells she changed my resume and wants me to call them back. I do not remember sending out my resume to people who do not tell who they are and what they do.  The woman is quite old according to her voice is  she speaks very unclearly and is vedry impolite.  She does not tell whom she represents either. Definitely would like to know who dares calling people who are on the no call list. Calling them back is leading to some strange GMG financial services. They do not dare to talk with you over the phone.

I received a call from this number yesterday at 1230pm Aug 16th, with a message left on my voice mail that said, hi this is Nicki calling in regard to her manager wanting to discuss a possible job position. And that her manager got my info from a resume I submitted on Cal jobs, I called back and it was just a recording.

I keep receiving phone calls from 951-223-4040 and when I answer the phone there is silence then a dial tone. These calls come several times a day. I called the number back and received a recording and general mailbox for GFG Inland Empire. I could not find any website for this company. I don't know what these people want.

My resume is on a few sites, including EDD.....I am not calling them back.
