It's Santa's "voicemail". Christmas magic is believing in Santa and helping your kids believe in him too. We've called it every year since they started. We choose not to leave a message because "Santa is too busy making toys".

I think that it is prudent to be concerned. In this day and age of advanced technology and the criminal minds that have mastered it for their own ends, one should be concerned and more protective of their information. The fact that the number was created, used and kept in service for Santa calls through the years does not make it less of a threat or danger. Just because it was in the news does not lend it credibility. Yes there are some that will absentmindedly call this number and divulge personal information and there are those who will choose to find a more secure way of fooling their child. Whatever one chooses, I do not think name calling accomplishes anything or makes one appear mature, knowledgeable or credible.

Google it or call or private or better than that don't call if ur concerned.

How do we know this isn't a pedophile?  Your kids are leaving messages and the phone number is on Caller ID.

According to the websites I've read, it does cost the long distance fee, but that's all, if you live outside the 951 area code. If you're in the 951 area, it costs. Weird!

You should NOT be getting a call from this number. This is a number for children to make a Free Call to SANTA and they can leave him messages. It has been in service several years and has been pretty reputable.

This number shouldn't be calling you; you should be calling it-if you have small children.  It's Santa's Hotline.  The kids hear a message from Santa (Be good. Listen to your parents. Etc.), then the kid's can LEAVE a message FOR Santa!
