A person by the name of Gregory who works for JDI Group called my mother on 6/28/13 and asked her to give me a message  "If you speak to Tammy can you tell her that we are filling a law suit and we have issued a warrant out for her arrest.  My mother called me back to give me the information.  So I called them back.

I spoke to David Murdock at 5:25pm, asked him what was going on and that I was given a message that I needed to call immediately because I had a law suit against me.  He told me yes they have issued a law suit because I am delinquent on my payment and they would be able to settle for.....well I cut him off before he could finish.  I told him 1st of all I didn't appropriate him telling my mother all my personal business and told him that my mother and step father has medical issues that by giving them bad new would make them worry and stress and if they get sick, I would have to sue them for the medical bills. He went on rambling about how they send me numerous warning in the mail  again I cut him off and asked them what address were they sending them to he said an old address, I told him I haven't lived at that address in 4-5 years, then he went on saying he called me numerous times so again I asked him what was the phone number you were calling, he gave me an 832-...-.... (I don't remember what that number was) I cut him off again and said no, that is not the correct phone number!  By that time he was getting angry saying I had a sassy mouth and for me to stop cutting him off!  I cut him off again and told him that I wanted his information so I could sent it to my attorney/lawyer and he started getting very rude, the next thing I heard was SHUUUUT UUUPPP ALREADY!!!!! SHUT UP!!!! I'm tired of hearing your mouth already!!!! Then he hung up on me.
I called back at 5:29..................have auto but cant post
basically I could not get a word in.  The whole time I was only trying to get his information to send to my attorney and the whole time he was very disrespectful! I was telling him he did not have good customer service and that he was not being professional...sorry the audio is kind hard to hear....
Not once did he tell me my court date, time, location and room #, what the judges name was...
I am going to bring him DOWN!!!!!

This "Company" goes by the name JDI & Associates now.  I believe "Mike Anderson" is now David Murdoch.  His mama is wild when she's on my d.ick, and his grandma tew.  In fact, his grandma is a bigger sl.ut than his mama, especially when she takes her teeth out.

If you want a good laugh, go to youtube and search for "the prosecutor calls", the prank call community is giving these scumbags some well-deserved harrassment.  Talk about karma...

Ahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!1!1!one!!

So this guy called my father in law earlier today threatening a summons to civil court if he didn't pay an old credit card debt.  I called this guy back at first being very polite just wishing to talk to him on my FIL's behalf.  After he gave his spiel on how I could stop all court proceedings buy giving him the money, I told him I was going to record the conversation from this point on....

Total demeanor change, he immediately became very hostile but taking great care not to swear(as it's against the law) and simply began repeating that he did not give permission for this phone call to be recorded.  After doing his best to make an empty threat he promptly hung up the phone.

Today's lesson kiddos is that if this D-bag calls you or a loved one, simply say you're recording the call.

Total scam, and not even a good one.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC), the nation's consumer protection agency, is warning consumers to be on the alert for scam artists posing as debt collectors. It may be hard to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and a fake one. Sometimes a fake collector may even have some of your personal information, like a bank account number. A caller may be a fake debt collector if he:

is seeking payment on a debt for a loan you do not recognize;
refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number;
asks you for personal financial or sensitive information; or
exerts high pressure to try to scare you into paying, such as threatening to have you arrested or to report you to a law enforcement agency.

If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his name, company, street address, and telephone number. Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." The notice must include the amount of the debt, the name of the creditor you owe, and your rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, do not pay! Paying a fake debt collector will not always make them go away. They may make up another debt to try to get more money from you.

Stop speaking with the caller. If you have the caller's address, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.

Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know whom you're dealing with. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft ? charging your existing credit cards, opening new credit card, checking, or savings accounts, writing fraudulent checks, or taking out loans in your name.

Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate ? but you think the collector may not be ? contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.

Report the call. Contact the FTC and your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers. Many states have their own debt collection laws in addition to the federal FDCPA. Your Attorney General's office can help you determine your rights under your state's law.>

Consumers across the country report that they're getting telephone calls from people trying to collect on loans the consumers never received or on loans they did receive but for amounts they do not owe. Others are receiving calls from people seeking to recover on loans consumers received but where the creditors never authorized the callers to collect for them. So what's the story?

YES!! Most def a SCAM. I received a message from a family member today, 9/25/12 that someone from JDI called and told her that I was being sued and to call 951-279-4500 and reference case number -***. I did so today (9/25/12 @ 2:35P) and the person who first answered my call did not give his name but answered "Corporate Offices" I provided the information and was told that my call was being transferred to a managing partner. After a few minutes on hold, I was transferred to a man calling himself David Murdock.
Mr. Murdock stated that I was being sued by a company called iAdvance for the amount of $1146.37 and that if I did not settle today, for $500.00 I would be served with papers and taken to civil court. I informed Mr. Murdock that I do not recall ever doing business with a company called iAdvance and that I would like to see all the documentation prior to sending any money.
It was at that time Mr. Murdock became enraged and started screaming several expletives at me. I simply just wanted the supporting documentation showing that the debt was mine. I stated that it is within my rights, as per the FCRA that a company validate the debt if asked.  He refused to send me anything and stated, he would see me in court that he had filed the paperwork.
I have filed complaints with both California AG and the FTC and for good measure I will do the same with my current states AG.

The same thing happened to me a guy named Murdoch called my mother and said I was a defendant in a civil case for an account that has been resolved for years now.  He called me from 951-847-3979 was what my mother gave me. I called them back and he verified my email, ssn, and name I shouldn't have even said anything and hung up but he was talking lawsuit so I did not. He kept asking for my account number and debit card number and I simply was not gonna give that information over the phone and he got rude and kinda loud at that point. I'm glad I didn't and I will be reporting these douchbags to the California Attorney Generals Office. It pisses me off that these people just sit around and think up ways to intimidate and extort people and I can't stand that.

Recieved a phone call from them today.  Also claiming they had made several attempts to contact "you".  Now I have just declared Chapt 13, and I think I know the name of everyone I do owe money to, but they are not on the list.  Not only that, but the phone is quiet since Bankruptcy was declared-as it should be.  I don't know how they got my number.  Told me to call 951-271-4878 back.

Please read:

When you go and file your complaint with the FTC and your Attorney General?s office you might think about getting the companies mailing address. This is a little harder than you would think from a collections company? If I am collecting how am I to collect without some form of mailing address!

Call. Give nothing but a first name I used John and I would hope you use the same one just for fun!

Ask for the mailing address! You will get transferred to an ?associate? that never comes to the phone. If you hang up and keep calling those 3-4 people answering the ?CORPORATE OFFICE? phone line will start putting all calls on hold from the get go without opportunity to speak. (Each time you call back on hold and never to return!)

I plan on doing this a few times a day until I get the address. Or at the very least torment the tormentors.
At one point I got forwarded to some voice mail for David Murdock.. (Ohh scary!!) So l left him one of his very own messages. Intimidating and nasty.

I plan on pushing this as far as I can, perhaps if this bill they are attempting to collect is even real by any means when I am done they will owe me.

Flood them with calls asking for the address in the meantime, and if you actually get it.. Post it so we can all use it in our complaints.

Just received a call from a gentleman named Phillip Reynolds (951-271-4870) he said he was a clerk with JDI & Associates LLC he asked to speak to my husband(he asked for him by name), I said he wasn't home and he could leave a message. He asked if I was his wife, I answered "I am", he said would you like to speak on his behalf, I said "I would". He then said my husband was the defendant in a pending law suit from an old HSBC account. He asked me to verify the last for of his SSN, I said no. He then transferred me to Todd Shaw, who presented himself as an attorney. He said my husband was being sued for $1909.37 BUT they would settle out of court for $823.44. He said I needed to settle today or my husband would be served with a subpoena at work. so if I wanted to spare embarrassment I should settle right now. He also said if I didn?t settle that his pay would be garnished $3400.00 in court cost and attorney fees. I put him on hold and called my husband from a separate phone. My husband said he settled everything with HSBC and they are no longer in business. I got back on the phone with "Todd" and said I needed to go. He left this number for my husband to call them back 951-271-4847. needless to say we wont be calling them back. I have several friends in law enforcement and several that are actual lawyers, I'll be turning this info over to them!! I'm so glad I found this site.
