I received a call on my mobile phone and it went to voicemail.  The beginning of the message was cut off however it listed options to accept call, refuse call or block calls.  
If you see this number on your readout and you do not know of anyone in the Riverside jail system, IGNORE it.

yes, its from riverside jail, but they cannot leave a message. my relative was there and I know he would have left a message if he could have. But I do believe it is using a calling card issued by a detention company.

We screen our calls, if we don't recognize the number we don't answer. It started to leave a message that it was a collect call from Riverside county jail. We don't know anyone that would be in that position so we didn't pick up just ended the call. This number will be added to our list of scam numbers. If you ignore them they eventually just hang up when they realize it's a machine, plus we have no identifying info on the answering machine message they get. Our friends and family know the routine when they call us. The way we figure it is if they don't start talking and identify themselves it's not that important.

this is a jail number and it can only call out. if you call it, it will sound like a fax it is some in mate who is in there trying to call out to talk to a loved one.  you need money on an account to be hooked up with the person calling.  if you don't no any one in jail just hang up. they propably missed dial

it tells me its a fax number but she says its jail
