4x a week for the past few weeks

Caller ID CPYC -answered call and quickly heard a dial tone. Maybe whoever is responsible is trying to capture the numbers they are dialing....maybe it's an automatic dialing system. Just a thought.

Asked for Scott, Than stopped talking, Tried to call back, only got a fax machine

Phone rang, I answered it, no one was there.  I kept saying "hello" but no one answered.

i worked for them for a bit due to lack of ANY other option and let me tell you they are extremely scandalous and the owner is in trouble for embezzlement as the supervisors that i was under should be as well

Police officers don't make telemarketing calls. Instead they hire companies to make these calls for them and receive a portion of the profits. So when you call the sherriffs dept. and they say they do not make these calls. Does not mean the company calling you is not doing a good thing. It just means the police and side stepping your question. They have there own companies they hire to raise money for them. they the police make these comments so you will only give to there program and not to other great charities. I believe the police make enough money. So why not help a child who cn not help themselves and are being raised by low life parents. These kids programs reach out to alot of children and make there dreams come true. If you could see these kids faces in person and the smiles they give, the donations received changed there lives. It would change your opinion on these programs.

Give with your heart not the negative comments the media comes up with.
There are good programs and there are bad programs I agree.
Just as there are good cops and there are bad cops.
When you give money at church. You give because you want to. If you knew your preacher lived in a better home, drove a better car, had nicer vacation, gave his kids a better education with your money. I bet you would be pissed. This again is why you give with your hreat and don't worry where the money really goes.

I have received calls from them several times a week. I do remember being contacted by a "California Police Youth Charities" and agreed to a donation without giving checking or cc information. Right after the call, my wife said she saw a report on the news about phony charities associating themselves with police organizations. An earlier post mentioned contacting the Riverside Cnty Sheriff department and they had no association with them, nor do they use telemarketers. This is clearly a sham operation, and the fact they're still out there tells me someone in law enforcement isn't doing their job...so why would I contribute to their charities????

This caller calls but does not leave message.  Can anyone stop this irritating caller?  I will report to donotcall.gov.

Called and hung up after the second ring. I called back and got a fax line also. They wait till you answer, then  hang up.

just got a call from this number and like some folks recounted, i heard beeps then it hung up.  i heard that these calls are made by a machine to see if someone will pick up the phone...then it loggs whether there's someone home during what time...tsk tsk tsk...i've already registered my number to the do not call list and still got the call...

Well folks we can only slow them down, but not completely stop them! Even on the national no call list...they still call. Caller ID has helped, only  answering those I know. The past week my phone has been ringing with calls from the Oraka Campaign. Yes I reported one of six I recieved at www.donotcall.gov and the surveyors calls too. Remind me to take a vacation during the next primary election to stop the insanity! In the mean time I'll continue to be a refuser to answering telemarketing calls of any type!

Called said something I didnt understand and hung up

They have called once a day for about a week.  I finally picked up the phone and heard three loud beeps, followed by the immediate hang-up.  When I called back, I got a modem tone.

They just called me but I did not pick up the phone. The caller id said CPYC. I put it into Yahoo and got this message board...wow!

They called when I was at work and did not leave a message

951-779-1367 just called my house and hung up on me when I wouldn't speak to them in Spanish.  I'm reporting the number to the Federal Do No Call Registry at www.donotcall.gov.  I hope more people do the same so action is taken against them.

Just received a call from this number, left no message, appears to be telemarketing....

Call with no one on line.  Appears they are try to see if we are home so they can potentially rob us.  I am reporting to the police.

Just received a call from this number.  10:30PM.  Didn't answer as it was on my home office number and I wasn't expecting a call.  I am annoyed as it is that people try to scam other people, but to bother people late at night makes it even more annoying.  They left no message and I googled the number before calling it back.

I just recieved a call from this number, no one replied when I answered. It sounded like an open line, when I called back I got a busy signal. I called again and it was a fax

I got a call just minutes ago from these people and the man asked for the owner of the house that we lived in,,,,,,,,I said we rent,,he said oh, well we can still talk to you if "you are the breadwinner" in the family,,I said I am and asked who he was and who he was with,,,,,,,he has a very heavy accent and the line sounded like we were in a tunnel,,,

he told me it was none of my business and hung up,,,,,,,,,

I tried to call it back and it is a fax number,,,,

I got a call with no answer. There were ticking sounds on the other line. I said hello and it sounded as if I got an open line upon speaking (voice activation?) 12/15/07 12:55pm

Someone called and said they were from CPYC and were doing police fundraising.  They asked for a contribution and wanted my personal info over the phone such as credit card or check info.  I called the # back and got a fax tone.  I called the Riverside Sheriff's Dept and they said they would not solicit over the phone for fundraising events.  They also mentioned they would be contacted to another charitable organizatio and that they were not currently involved in any such events.  I think the people using this number are scamming or trying to trick people.  DO NOT give your personal info over the phone.
